JournalYou have been given the task of relaying sad news to someone—their beloved family pet has died. Write a scene, letter or dialogue showing your use and understanding of kairos, audience and decorum.

• Kairos: When will you tell the person? (What’s going on before/after you tell them?)

• Audience: Who are you telling? What’s their age or other important details?

• Decorum: What language will you use, or how will you phrase this news?

• When might this speech have been given?• Can you identify any examples of “decorum” in the

speech just from listening to it?
