Unlike traditional measures of success- like money, titles, or status -
the creative mind is driven by a desire to see creativity come to life. Success is making an impact in what matters
most to you.
To make an impact with creativity, you must love what you do.

I grew up with sketches. Since i was a little kid, i love drawing. I started copying Marvel’s comic books of Spider Man and other heores. Even at school, I used to spend a lot of time drawing and feeding my creativity.
What i thinkDrawing is the rst step in the design process, and for me is very
important. I think that sketches shows to other people the beginning of a project, and its evolution. It’s limitless, and like some kind of magic, a
draw can materialize your creativity.
About the sketch...One of my rst sketches as designer. It’s a concept of a reex camera. Thee shape represent a stone, very solid and strong,
while the buttons on the back represent the water, which in nature reshape the stone.

About the sketch...Every kid is afraid of the dark, specially of monsters living in the
dark. This toy lamp is designer to mock this monsters, make them look more funny and friendly, helping children to win their fear of

Working on my projectsI discovered design’s world very late in my life. After graduated in accounting, i was looking for a way to exploit my creativity not just as a simple hobby, but as something more. In that moment I opened my eyes in design, realizing that it is the best way for me to use my imagination, and create something that represent myself.
What I thinkDesigning a new product is a way for me to show everyone my personality
and my ideas. My wish is to create a connection between people, thanks to my products: I would like the nal user to feel the same emotions i feel while
creating my products, so that they can totally appreciate my designs.

L IGHTHOUSE
About LighthouseLighthouse is a set composed by a pitcher and a glass. This design has been created for Bugatti Casa, an italian company which produces home stuff, and gave me the brief to create a new product for the bedroom.Lighthouse is a product that wants to join modern technology with a very simple and classic object like a pitcher, giving the nal user new interaction options.

BriefBugatti’s request was simple and it gave me the freedom to think and imagine a new product without boundaries. They needed a new product for the home collection to place in bedroom. The design had to follow the company’s style and respect their knowhow. Between all the objects we nd in a bedroom i chose to work on a pitcher for the night.
BedroomIn the design process for Lighthouse,I decided to analize where this product
will be placed: the bedroom. The space can be different from the kind of house and from every people’s habits, but mostly there are some areas that
are “standars” in every bedroom. One of this areas is the bedside table, where people usually place the most used object (like cell phones, glasses,
books and bottles with water for the night). The bedside is the exact area where Lighthouse will be placed.

SleepingLighthouse is designed to be used during the night and placed on the bedside table. This means that the nal user will interact with the product mostly during the night. In this case I had to face all the problematic of how a person is while slepping and in the moment when he wakes up in the middle of the night to drink a glass of water. The dark is the main obstacle, it avoids us to immediately locate what we need. Being sleepy doesn’t help, because we are confused and we start ngering around to reach the object we need (in this case, the pitcher) instead of using our sight. This sounds like the formula for little home accidents, than are always very bothering.
What do people do?Normally, to solve this little bothering problems, we just try to remember where we put the pitcher, or we just turn on the lights. But what if on the
bedside table there are several objects? We risk to damage something or create chaos in the middle of the night. And if we don’t sleep alone? Turning
the light can annoy our room mate. So I thought to “guide”, in some ways, the nal users, help them easily nd the pitcher avoiding the usual problems.

The conceptHow can Lighthouse solve the problems about I talked before? Thanks to his platform. In it there is a little solar panel, that everyday recharges a lithium battery situated inside the base. This battery will allow a little LED to turn on in the night, helping the user to easily locate the pitcher in the middle of the dark: in fact the light of the LED and the refraction properties of water and glass create a tower of light, light a lighthouse on the seaside. This light is not strong enough to disturb the sleep of people, so they can have sweet dreams. The LED turns on automatically in the dark, thanks to a sensor situated in the solar panel.

The lightThe LED inside Lighthouse’s platform is not strong enough to light the room, or to be a problem for the user’s sleep. It has the correct intensity to create a tower of light that highlights the pitcher and, of course, it indicates to positiion on the bedside table’s surface.

ROYALE
About RoyaleProject Royale begins with a contest sponsored by ITA - International Tobacco Agency. The company was looking for a new lighter for his CIAO collection. This contest gave me a good challenge, because gave me the chance to design a product for a target that wasn’t mine: smokers.

BriefThe challenge’s topic was: creating a new lighter for the product family CIAO, by ITA. CIAO lighters are low cost, made of plastic and their target are young smokers from 18 years old up to maximum 30 years old.
Smoking and lightersPeople who smoke always say that ther really need to put a cigarette in their
mouth. In the past, smoking was thought to be cool, something for stylish adults. Nowadays we know it’s not healthy, and the more smokers there are,
the more lighters they need. This little product is not only for smokers: it can be used at home for many reasons, it’s useful on camping... In the past was
even a status symbol, rich people could afford very expensive and cool lighters, and some of them become a design icon.
pro
ducts
roya
le
LightersPeople who usually use lighters, they always have one with them: they keep it in the pocket, in their bags and pochette, or they simple leave them around the house. Some of them, they collect all kind of lighters, from the famous Zippo, to the most economic Bic, for several reasons: the the famous design, the graphics or the colors...
Problems?CIAO is a low cost lighter. It’s not tough as metal one, and not so precious to
be well kept from its users: if they break it or they loose it, they will buy another one for just very little money. The most used place to keep the lighter
is the pocket, but it’s also the place where it gets broken by impacts or by the dirt and dust that there is in our pockets.
pro

roya
le
RoyaleIn this contest, I decided to make a bet. Ciao is a low cost lighter, but why don’t we do a different kind of CIAO? I chose to focus on the quality of the design and of the materials, creating a stylish lighter for the target of age 18 - 30 years old, who aim for something special, who wants to be different from the others. With his quality, Royale can attract a wider target, because even elder users will want to have it.
MaterialsThe main material is aluminium, polished or rough. The little components are made by copper. This gives to Royale an high quality look, and even when
you touch it you can feel the renement.
pro
ducts
roya
le
The conceptIf you keep a normal lighter in your pocket or in your bag too long, the little components won’t work well, because of the dust thet normally we have in our pockets due to the fabric of our clothes and other things like pieces of paper. How can the components be protected? My idea was to create a “shield” around this pieces, reducing the chances for the main components to get broken. The protection is given by a little dome: to turn on the light, you have to rotate the button under the dome.
pro

le
ColorsThe colors are given by the material. Royal can be made by aluminium polished or rough, with components (like button and decorations) made by copper. The secon version of the lighter, is copper made, polished or rough, with components in aluminium. If you buy the polished version, the components will be rough, and viceversa.

About OcupDesigning a packaging was a new challenge for me. For the rst time I had to see the pack as a product itself, with all his functions and features. Alcas, company that creates tools for ice-cream shops and confectionery, wanted a new product for their collection. I am an ice-cream lover, so I couldn’t loose this chance!

BriefAlcas’ brief was creating a new product for their collection, to sell in one of their sector (ice-cream shops, confectionary and horeca). Depending on the chosen sector, the product would have had different features and a different style.
I want an ice creamEverybody loves ice creams. The tastes are innite, with several ways to eat it (from cup, with cones, on a cookie...). You can eat it everywhere, walking in
your city’s downtown, lying on the beach, in a reastaurant or bar, or just at home while working on your projects. This food is so simply but so powerful at the same time, because it’s one of the few things that connect everybody,
with no differences of age, sex, ethnicity...
EatingThere are several tools to eat an ice cream. Alcas wanted me to focus on their main product: cups. Cups, like ice creams, are limitless, there are different kind, each one with lots of different colors, different shapes, different features. They can be just a simple container, or even a toy. The options are innite.
New waysThe main problem for this project was that cups are a so simple product that
they are almost perfect. It’s very difcult to nd a way to improve it, or to give it an additional value. I wanted to avoid doing something trivial, or just a
new shape. I wanted to create a new way to eat ice creams, a way for the user to “interact” with it.
pro
ducts
ocup
OCupIt looks like a cup, but it’s not a cup. I decided to reinvent the way how a person eats an ice cream. Why the cup has to be a cup? Can’t it be something different, but with the same function? I wanted to create something that customers would appreciate, deciding to buy my cup for his added value. This kind of product has a very large variety of shapes, colors (depending production costs, companies needs, target...). My idea was to design something that was easy for Alcas to produce, and that would be something brand new for the nal user.
MaterialFirst of all, the entire cup is made with polypropylene, a material that is perfect for contain food and is easy to cut and fold. It’s whasable and
recyclable, with the possibility to print on it. The cup can be sold with a silicon band, which has some features connected with the cup.
pro
ducts
ocup
The conceptI chose to change the rules of the game. I didn’t want a simple cup. I wanted something the people could interact with, in several ways. The shape comes from a tear-off tab of polypropylene, that is folded by the ice-cream man at the moment of selling his product. The nal user will have something never seen before, spoiling his curiosity. Usually the grac of cups is situated outside, but in a very little space. In Ocup, the shape allow to put a bigger graphic inside: it can be a commercial, a little game or some cool and funny graphic. Putting it inside, will give the nal user the feel of discovering something. And at the end, he can collect all the graphics.
pro
ducts
ocup
ColorsThe cup can have a limitless range of colors, depending on the company’s needs. The main proposal is to create cups with basic colors, not complex. In this way the production costs will decrease and there will be the chance to match the cup’s color with the silicon band color.
pro

Graphics
Every cup can have a different graphic. One of the features of Ocup is to commu-nicate with the user. It can show a funny picture, be a commercial or promoting important events like expositions and fairs.

Bands
The silicon bands can be collected as well. They are matched with the cup’s graphic and color, for unlimited color combinations.

About ZCubeZCube was a concept project about sustainable mobility in modern cities. BriefThis time I had to think about mobility in modern cities. The problems of the modern metropolis are the lack of space to move, there is always more and more trafc and delivery goods is becoming a very hard challenge. Of course, even pollution is a big problem. Bikes are very widespread in very densely populated cities, and are being used more and more all around the world.
Mobility in modern citiesBefore starting the project, I had to analize modern cities problems about
mobility. The increase of population in every city of the world is the begin of the problem: if there are more people, there is an bigger need of way of
transports. In the lastyears, there has been an increase of the number of cars, causing an increase of trafc in our metropolis. Sometimes it’s even
impossible to drive! The solution is using little vehicles, specially motorbikes and bikes.
pro

zcub

Riding the bikeBicycles are a valid solution to modern cities’ needs: mostly, they are not cumbersome, they are cheap and, specially, they are eco-friendly. Bikes are used even for moving goods in cities, because they are nimble and not so much affected by trafc jams as other vehicles like cars or vans.
Yes, but...Moving goods means bigger bikes. Cargo bikes are very cumbersome, and
when you park them you need more space than a normal bike. And in densely populated cities, space is precious like gold. Even when this bikes
are empty they are cumbersome. So i wanted to try to nd a solution.

ZCubeZCube is a folding cargo bike. It can be closed when empty, reducing the space needed by the bike to be parked. It’s designed to be very light, thanks to innovative materials and an assisted cycling system. In this way it will be not difcult and not tiring to move even heavy goods around the city.ZCube can be used for commercials too: the panels of the chest can be customized for any company’s need.
MaterialsThe bike’s chassis is made by carbon ber: very resistant and light. The

BOXRESTATION
About ReBox StationThis is the second project about packaging design. It has started with the topic of “Save the pack”, main discussion of the exhibition Packology 2013. The goal was to create a packaging that lasted in time without becoming useless, avoiding it to be a waste.

BriefA pack very often is only the container of the real product. It’s not designed to last, or to be useful at the end of his lifecycle, after that the customer has onpened it. With some exceptions, we always trow it away without thinking twice. The brief of this project was to create a pack that could have a function even after being open, reducing packaging wastes.
Too much packagingEverything has a pack. From the littlest of the things. Even some very
expensive cars have a packaging. The main problem is that, when we open a packaging, we immediately focus on the product and we throw away the
container, without thinking how to reuse it or how much waste we are creating.
pro
ducts
rebo

tion
What are we doing now?Nowadays, people don’t think too much at the packaging. For the most part of them, the pack is just the container of the product they bought. People usually try to recycle them, even if sometimes it’s very difcult or almost impossible due to the different materials that compose a single packaging. Some people instead use a creative recycle, turning the unused pack in something different (like toys, turning htem in other kind of containers...).
Thinking outside the boxI didn’ want to create a simple packaging, easy to recycle, maybe with
innovative materials. I wanted to create a product with the feature of being a packaging. Between all the possible products, I chose laptops packaging,
because they are full of different materials and everybody buys a laptop several times in their lifetime.
pro

ReBox StationProject ReBox isn’t just a pack. It’s a new system of packaging for laptops and netbooks. As the name says, it’s a “station”, a working station. It’s a suitcase, where keeping the laptop and taking it with you whenever you want. You can use it even as support for your pc to have a more comfortable position.
MaterialsThe main material of ReBox Station is corrugated cardboard of 5mm. It gives
the pack strenght to resist to shocks. It’s covered by a lm of polypropylene, to make it water resistant and to have the possibility to print on it every kind
of graphic. It’s 100% recyclable.

ConceptThe main idea was creating a packaging that could be reused without any “creative effort” of the customer. ReBox Station is a product itself, it doesn’t have to be seen like just the packaging. This pack is also recyclable, due to the materials. It occupies half of the space of the normal packs, because of its trapeze shape: shipping it will be cheaper for companies.

BriefHow to improve an hotel’s roof garden with a light design product. This was the brief of Hilton Hotel in Milan. In a city where there is no more space for green areas, we are forced to create this spaces on the top of buildings. This gardens become a piece of relax in a more and more chaotic world.
Green in greyAs we already know, living in big cities can be stressful, due to the chaos and the frenzed lifestyle. The pollution is not good for our health, and the
need for green spaces is increasing. The main problem is the lack of space: in metropolis like New York, is impossible to nd new spaces where to build
gardens: better look up, to the top of buildings.

Roof is the new gardenThe roof of the buildings are becoming new space for new gardens, that have a very high value, and they can be very luxurious. They can be just a private garden, or the location of a restaurant. The roof garden is a place where people relax, spend their free time, meet each other. And the light is essential, because it creates beauty and feelings. It helps to create a good space of peace.
Light as experienceIt’s simple to create a light source like a lamp, or a piece of furniture, that’s considered beautiful, and that creates nice light effects. It’s more difcult to
give the users an experience with the light, something that they can feel, maybe taste, something that they will surely remember. That was my goal,
creating an experience, not a product.

Urban TreasureUrban Treasure is a piece of furniture that has the main feature to be a “cocoon” for something very precious: plants. Aromatic plants. In fact the light is part of the experience that this cocktail table can gift to the guests of Hilton Hotel. The hexa-gon shape let the table be modular, so it’s possible to create compositions with this table, for many events that takes place in the roof garden
MaterialsThe main materials of Urban Treasure are ABS and aluminium. The ABS is

BriefThe given brief was to create a system based on the Zero Waste ideology: it means that the nal project shouldn’t create any waste or garbage. It was a real challenge, because I’ve never thought to design something that at the end of its lifetime wouldn’t have created any sort of waste. Challenge accepted.
Zero wasteFirst of all, I needed to understand what Zero Waste really means. It is a
philosophy and a design principle for the 21st Century. It includes “recycling” but goes beyond recycling by taking a “whole system” approach to the vast ow of resources and waste through human society. Zero Waste maximizes recycling, minimizes waste, reduces consumption and ensures that products
are made to be reused, repaired or recycled back into nature or the marketplace.
pro

Wasting todayAll our economy sectors create waste. Lots of trash that pile up around us, and we increase this volume day by day with all our activities. It’s impossible to come back in time, or to produce less because we are too many people living on this planet. We have already started doing something to solve this proble: for example we started using new eco-friendly materials, and using new strategies like recycling. But not all the sectors are the same.
Let’s playThe brief was just “creating a system”. I could choose what kind of product design and in wich sector place it. No limits, just pure concept. But I prefer
designing something that companies can produce even today, without waiting new technologies to be cheaper. I decided to make a revolution in
videogames sector: looking for information and datas, I found that this sector creates a very high amount of waste, due to consoles that breaks easily and it’s very expensive to repair them, so people prefer to throw them away and
buy a new one. I wanted to try nd a solution.

Design a graphicGraphics are very important for a product: they are the rst part of a project that enters in contact with the customers. They are so important that can represent the success or the failure of a product.
What I thinkI always try to design the graphic in the same way i design products.
I always put all my attentions on it, always trying to show the main features of a product and the wishes of the client.
