His success is theirs, and their success is his. He belongs to the family for life.”

The five C’s of Involvement

• Communication• During Recruitment, during AM Process, during Chapter Mtg.

• Clear Expectations• Ensure that everyone understands what is expected of them.

• Commitment• Once expectations are agreed upon, make a pact.

• Collaboration• Individual efforts = team efforts. Inspire a shared vision.

• Consequences• Use rewards and recognitions where possible, but hold one

another accountable. (Basic Expectation #10)

• “Students should get involved in organizations that match their interests and values. Remember that as you require/ask members to become involved in clubs, if they don't show up for meetings then they may make the organization look even worse.”

• “Undoubtedly, students who are involved in meaningful activities do better than students who are not. At a minimum, I recommend that all students join a group that support their major. If one does not exist, then I suggest they find a club that supports networking and will allow them to become involved in the community they wish to work in, such as a service based club (Rotaract, Circle K, Alpha Phi Omega).  If they are smart they should join the secondary honor societies in their discipline or college. I think this is more important than just joining a social or personal issue based club. This is based around their academic pursuits and should complement their studies.”
