Introduction to Meteors

Introduction to Meteors Meteors also known “shooting /falling

stars”. They are only rocks reflecting off of the

Sun, therefore creating light.

The Size of Meteors Some are large enough to fall all the way

to Earths surface. Most are no bigger than an Earth rock. They may be as large as a basketball. Meteors usually disintegrate before

reaching Earth’s atmosphere.

Location In Solar System Their locations vary from Earths

atmosphere to the rest of the solar system.

Temperature The temperature may vary if facing

the Sun or not.

Our spacecraft has a robot traveling on it. Also, food is supplied for her.

Mission: To collect samples of rocks from passing by meteorites.
