Introduction • Mostly everyone these days use the internet to carry
out most of their daily tasks during the day. This is because internet has become a part of our daily life and because it already has, you should be careful of the threats online while using the internet.
• Internet safety is very important!
Risks when using the internet
• Identity theft- Identity theft happens when fraudsters access your personal information (such as name, date of birth, passwords, current or previous addresses).
• Unwanted email- also known as Spam that could only cost you your time and money.
• Viruses can easily spread rapidly through your computer and network destroying valuable data. It can also cause the computer to run slow and then completely crash.
How to stay safe?• Install anti- virus and update regularly.• Cyber bullying must be reported immediately.• Firewall will protect your computer from unwanted
traffic from the internet.
• You can filter your emails to keep spam emails out of the inbox.
• Never give out your personal details to anyone.
• Know who you are talking to or contacting online
• So today we talked about how to stay safe when using the internet. Also the threats and dangers while working online and most importantly how to deal with these threats and dangers while using the internet and working online.
