INSTALLING "WINDOWS 7 ENTERPRISE TRIAL"

INTO "ORACLE VM VIRTUALBOX"

Step 1: Start "Oracle VM VirtualBox":

Step 2: The main window of "Oracle VM VirtualBox" will be displayed. Click on the "New" button near the upper left-hand corner:

Step 3: Click on the "Next" button:

Step 4: A "VM Name and OS Type" box will be displayed:

Step 5: Type in an appropriate name for the new "virtual machine guest operating system":

Step 6: Make sure that "Microsoft Windows" is selected for "Operating System". Step 7: Select the correct "Version" as follows: Select "Windows 7" if you are installing the 32-bit (x86) version of "Windows 7 Enterprise trial". Select "Windows 7 (64-bit)" if you are installing the 64-bit version of "Windows 7 Enterprise trial".

Step 8: Click on the "Next" button of the "VM Name and OS Type" box. Step 9: A "Memory" box will be displayed:

Step 10: Ignore the "Recommended base memory size" value that is displayed. Set the "Memory" setting to about 45 percent of the total amount of RAM that is installed in your computer: *

Step 11: Click on the "Next" button of the "Memory" box. Step 12: A "Virtual Hard Disk" box will be displayed. Make sure that "Boot Hard Disk" is checkmarked. Make sure that the "Create new hard disk" option is selected:

Step 13: Click on the "Next" button of the "Virtual Hard Disk" box. Step 14: A "Welcome to the Create New Virtual Disk Wizard!" box will be displayed:

Step 15: Make sure that "Dynamically expanding storage" is selected:

Step 16: Click on the "Next" button of the "Hard Disk Storage Type" box. Step 17: A "Virtual Disk Location and Size" box will be displayed:

Step 18: Adjust the size of the new "virtual disk". (The default value is too small for general use.) *

Step 19: Click on the "Next" button of the "Virtual Disk Location and Size" box. Step 20: Click on the "Finish" button of the "Summary" box:

Step 21: You will be back at the main "Oracle VM VirtualBox" window:

Step 22: Click on the "Settings" button. Step 23: A "..Settings" box will be displayed:

Step 24: Click on "Storage":

Step 25: Click on the "Empty" DVD/CD disk in the "Storage Tree" area:

Step 26: Click on the "Folder" icon to the right of the word "Empty" in the right side of the "..Settings" dialog box: (This icon looks like a folder with a distorted green triangle inside it.) *

Step 27: A "Virtual Media Manager" window will be displayed: *

Step 28: Click on the "Add" icon of the "Virtual Media Manager" box. Step 29: A "Select a CD/DVD-ROM disk image file" box will be displayed:

Step 30: Click on the "Desktop" icon. *

Step 31: Locate and click on the *.iso file for installing "Windows 7 Enterprise trial" that you downloaded earlier.

Step 32: Click on the "Open" button. Step 33: You will now be back at the "Virtual Media Manager" window:

Step 34: Click on the "Select" button: Step 35: You will now be back at the "..Settings" box:

Step 36: Click on the "OK" button of the "..Settings" box. Step 37: You will now be back at the main "Oracle VM VirtualBox" window:

Step 37: Click on the "Start" button of the main "Oracle VM VirtualBox" window. Step 38: Click on the "OK" button:

Step 39: Click on the "OK" button:

Step 40: An "Install Windows" window will be displayed: Click on the "Next" button.

Step 41: Click on the "Install now" button:

Step 42: The software license terms will be displayed:

Step 43: Place a checkmark next to "I accept the license terms".

Step 44: Click on the "Next" button. Step 45: Double-click on "Custom (advanced)":

Step 46: The detected disks and disk partitions will be displayed:

Step 47: Click on the "Next" button. Step 48: The Windows installation process will run by itself for a while:

Step 49: During the "Completing installation" portion of the installation process, your "virtual machine" may reboot one or more times. This is normal.

Step 50: Type in the desired "user name":

Step 51: Modify the "computer name": *

Step 52: Click on the "Next" button: Step 53: A "Set a password for your account" box will be displayed:

Step 54: Type in the desired password twice and the "password hint" once: *

Step 55: Click on the "Next" button: Step 56: Click on "Ask me later":

Step 57: A "Review your time and date settings" box will be displayed:

Step 58: Select the correct time zone:

Step 59: Click on the "Next" button: Step 60: Click on "Home network".

Step 61: The "Windows 7.." desktop will load:

Step 62: Click on "Devices" in the menu bar. Step 63: Click on "Install Guest Additions" in the pull-down menu. Step 64: Click on "Run VBoxWindowsAdditions.exe':

Step 65: Click on the "Yes" button of the "User Account Control" box:

Step 66: Click on the "Next" button:

Step 67: Click on the "I Agree" button:

Step 68: Click on the "Next" button:

* Step 69: A "Choose components" box will be displayed:

Step 70: Place a checkmark next to "Direct3D Support..":

Step 71: Click on the "Install" button of the "Choose components" box. Step 72: Click on the "Install" button of the "Windows Security" box:

Step 73: Click on the "Install" button of the second "Windows Security" box:

Step 74: Make sure that the "Reboot now" option is selected.

Step 75: Click on the "Finish" button:

Step 76: Log in with the password that you selected for your "Windows" account. Step 77: The "Windows 7 Enterprise trial" virtual machine is now ready for you to use.
