n the 31st of October, our school had a
Halloween party. More than one thousand
students joined the Halloween party. Our
school is very keen about health, which means it
does not sell
any sweets
o r s o f t
drinks. But
on that day,
we could eat
sweets and
chocolates.
The party
was during
recess and
lunch time. All students wore different kinds of
costumes.
About 20% of the girl students wore witch
costumes, and others wore princess, king and
Spiderman costumes. All students felt excited and
happy. They said trick or treat to other students and
teachers to get sweets. Even some teachers wore
costumes! The teachers also felt happy because the
students were very quiet on that day during their
lessons. The school will have another Halloween
party next year.

n the 22nd of October, 2011, all teachers, students
and about three hundred parents went to Hong
Kong Park. They arrived at 9:00 a.m. by school bus
and left at 3:00 p.m. The students were excited before
the trip because they love playing games and they don’t
usually get to play together with the whole grade.
When everyone got there, they took a photo.
Then, the students followed the teachers to the big
playground that looked like a football field. They all ate
something and took a rest there. In the afternoon, they
played a special
game with class-
mates. It was a pass
the hula hoop game.
The students passed
the hula hoop with
their whole body, but
using no hands and
no touching. They
were like snakes. It was fun! The game was quick and
exciting. At last, some of the classes, like 4E, 5E, and 6B,
won the game. The winners got prizes, like food and
biscuits.
After playing the game, everyone had lunch.
Students had ham sandwiches and bread. Next, it was
free time, and they could do whatever they wanted.
Some students walked around Hong Kong Park. There
are many interesting places in Hong Kong Park.
Students could watch birds that were colourful and sang
some wonderful songs. Students could see a tall tower
and walk up to the top. It had more than one hundred
steps! All visitors could see the view from there. Some
students felt tired after they went up the tower. Others
said they saw a few men doing exercise by running up
the tower many times. Those men are very strong!
The teachers felt relaxed that day because they
did not have to teach the children or punish them. Eden
Chan in 5E said, “The picnic was good but tiring!”

n October, our school library opened. It has been open for about one
month. It is beautiful and new, but it is smaller than Ho Yat Tung’s old
library. There are some interesting chairs and sofas. They look like
balls, and they are comfortable. Also, the teachers put many colourful and
beautiful decorations on the wall.
There are many new books, like Math books, English stories and
Chinese books. The most popular story is “Three Little Pigs.” Most of the P6
students like reading science books because they can learn more, but many
students like to read stories because they are interesting. Although not all
books are there, a lot of students love the library because they can choose
between Chinese and English books, and we can learn more English too. There are also some magazines, so we
can learn about the news. Students can go there during recess and after lunch, but it is closed before exams.
Audrey Chan in 6D said, “I feel happy and excited in the library because the books are interesting.”
Do you like going to the library? Go borrow some books if you like.

y goal is to pass the grade 5 piano exam. I
am in grade 2 piano now. I started to play
piano when I was six years old. My sister
passed the grade 8 piano exam last year, and I don’t
want to fall behind her. I can be more hardworking
and practise the piano each
day for twenty to forty minutes.
I also want to be first in
P5. This is difficult because
there are more pupils than
before, but it is important to
me to get into a top secondary
school.
M
Crystal Wan (5A)
y goal this year is to
participate in more activities
so that I can learn more
things. I will join piano class. In
piano class, I will try to play well and
learn about melody. I hope I can be
good at that!
Sam Wong (6D)
y goal is to get good marks
in my exams and to be
healthier. I want to get good
marks because I want to go to a
good secondary school. I will do
more revision, so I will not forget the
things that I have learned. I want to
have a healthy body because if I am
weak, I can’t do anything. I will eat
more healthy food, like vegetables,
fruits, and eggs. I will not eat so
much meat because meat has too
much oil and will make me fat.

y goal this year is to get
good marks so that I can
go to a good secondary
school.
Also, I want to be taller. I will
join the basketball team, and I will
work hard to reach my goal and
pay attention to the lessons. I will do exercises every
day too. It is important to me because then my future
will be more interesting and other people will not
laugh at me because I am short.

ur school,
Lee Kam
P r i m a r y
School, is going to
have a sky garden,
and the children
are very excited.
But no one has any
information about the sky garden! It is mysterious.
We only know that the sky garden is on the sixth
floor, and the road between the sixth floor and the sky
garden has been finished. The sky garden has just been
finished too! We don’t know any more about the sky
garden because it is locked and no one can go inside,
but if you want to have a look at it, we will tell you how
to go there. First, go to the sixth floor and walk in front
of the 6E class and turn your whole body to the bridge
and keep going. When you see a small gate, inside is
the sky garden.
Kammy in 4B said, “I hope it has many flowers.”
Angel in 4B said, “I hope we can go to the sky
garden.”
Other sky gardens are beautiful too, and we hope
our sky garden will be as beautiful as the sky garden at
HSBC Mong Kok Building. We also hope our sky garden
gives everyone a relaxing feeling.

r. Liu is the 5B class
teacher. He teaches 5B
Math and the PE lesson. He
always makes children laugh,
and he tells funny stories.
One time, he told a
story about how he was a
naughty boy when he was
young. His teachers would use
a ruler to hit the palm of his
hand, but Mr. Liu would
quickly move his hand away.
He said it did not hurt, but his
hands would be sweaty
because he was scared.
We know Mr. Liu was
naughty when he was young,
but now he is an excellent
teacher. He does not want
students to get bored. Some-
times students do not do their
work, so he tells funny stories
to help us.
We also like it when the
football team wins a football
match because Mr. Liu and the team will sing some
famous traditional songs. Mr. Liu is amazing!

n the 18th of September, our school held
birthday parties. We celebrated the birthday
students in our own classrooms, and we held the
parties after we went to the school picnic in Hong
O Kong Park.
The parties were for students who had
birthdays from September to December. We
decorated our classrooms before the parties.
Halloween is in October, so we put some
Halloween stickers, like ghosts, witches, spiders,
and pumpkins, on the windows, doors and walls.
The students liked them very much. We also stuck
some photos about birthdays, like some birthday
cakes and hats. (continued on p. 4)

n 14th November,
workers finished
our beauti fu l
playground. The whole
school had been waiting
for two months!
When there was no
playground, students ate
food and talked in the
classrooms. The students
say the new playground
is big and beautiful. The
teachers also say that it
is big.
The new playground is much bigger than the old
one. It is actually two times bigger than the old one was.
There are some things that no one knows about it, like
when the running track will open. There are more things
to use, like basketball nets and two football goals.
Kelvin Wong in 6C said, “I like this playground
very much because it’s bigger.”
Kiki Po in 6D said, “I like this playground very
much because it is beautiful.”
The playground is blue, red and yellow. The floor is
made of leather rubber so that the students won’t slip
and fall down.

(School Holds First Birthday Parties, continued from p. 3)
We did many interesting things, like playing
games, singing a song and giving gifts to the birthday
students. Some students’ parents brought birthday
cakes. The birthday cakes were delicious and sweet!
Some of the classes ate chocolate cake and others ate
candies.
Before we ate the birthday cakes, we took photos.
Students did not want to wear uniforms because the
photos would be more beautiful, and students would be
more comfortable out of uniforms.
Crystal in 6D said, “I felt happy and enjoyed the
birthday party very much because I could play with my
friends and eat birthday cake.”
We hope the birthday parties in the future will
come very soon! Next time, we hope we can have the
party on the playground with the whole school. It would
be even more exciting.

y goals this year are to get good
results in Chinese, English, Maths and
General Studies. It is important
because I am in P.6, and I need to choose a
good secondary school!
I also want to
participate in more
activities so that I can
learn more things. I
will study hard and
listen to the teacher in
lessons.
These goals are
very important because my wishes can
change my whole life. I can study in univer-
sity and learn new things. I hope my goals
can come true!
