• Sales Personnel and Managers must wear a Mavis uniform shirt or
uniform sweatshirt, khaki or uniform slacks, and hard-soled work boots.
• Tie shoelaces, tuck shirts in, wear a belt, avoid dangling jewelry,
NO cut offs.

when welding.

Lifting Procedures
• Get a firm footing.• Bend at the knees,
not at the waist.• Tighten stomach muscles.• Lift with your legs.
• Keep the load close to your body.• Keep your back aligned.• When lifting objects of more than half
your body weight, use powered liftingequipment or get help.

Lifting with Others
• When two or more people are carrying a heavy object, be
sure to have a prearranged signal before lowering, dropping
or releasing the load.
• Both should face the direction in which the object is moving.

Pull Tires with Two Hands
• Use two hands to carefully pull tires down from shelves.
• Grabbing with one hand is unsafe and can cause a shoulder injury.

• Be sure to wrap air hoses and store them when not in use.

Report Unsafe Conditions
• If you see something that looks unsafe, report it to your Manager orto Human Resources IMMEDIATELY.
• Some examples of unsafe conditions are: broken or damagedmachinery, cluttered work space, loose railings, missing equipment,or careless behavior.

• There should be no running at any time in any Mavis location.

Use Ladders

• DO NOT climb up tire racks.
Be sure to use ladders at all times when climbing.
• Report need for ladders to your Manager or
Human Resources when necessary.

• Never attempt to ream and plug a flat on the ground
or from the outside of the tire.
• Use the proper setting on the tire spreader. Repair from the inside.
• Stop and ask your Manager if you are uncertain.

Store Razor Blades Safely
• Never store a razor blade near other tools, wheel weights,
or where it may be grabbed by accident.
• Razor Blades should only be used in scrapers to remove Inspection
Stickers. Razor Blades should be stored behind the counter.

Stack Tires at Balancing Machine

• While at the balancing machine, be sure to stack tires
and not leave them scattered on the ground.

to prevent injury.

and keep a firm grip on the Pry Bar.

Never Lift withOnly One Lift Arm
• Lifting with only one lift arm is a safety risk.
• Lifting with only one lift arm can damage the vehicle and the lift.
• Always follow the procedures for lifting a vehicle right.
