what shall I do with the man whom
you call the King of the Jews?’ And
they cried out again, ‘Crucify him.’”
MARK 15:12-13

the least of my brothers, you do for
me.”

Project Compassion 2021 Prayer
God of all peoples and nations,
As you accompany us on our Lenten journey,
May our fasting strengthen our
commitment to live in solidarity,
Our almsgiving be an act of justice, and
Our prayers anchor us in love and compassion.
Through living simply and loving generously,
May we care for our global family
and our common home, as we “Aspire not to have more, but to be more”.*
We ask this in Jesus’ name.
Amen.

HOLY PLACES APPEAL –GOOD FRIDAY APRIL 2, 2021
The annual collection for the support of the church in the Holy Land will take
place on Good Friday April 2. This collection promotes the missionary work of the
Church in the Holy Land by providing welfare assistance to local Christians in the
area such as health, education, employment and housing. Parishes, schools
orphanages and medical centres throughout the Holy Land rely on assistance
from this collection.
Donations are also used to maintain over 70 churches and shrines associated with
the life of Jesus.
Last year, due to the global pandemic, it was an exceptionally difficult time for the
Church and people of the Holy Land with very little income due to the lack of
pilgrims and the closure of churches around the world.
Consequently, this year’s Good Friday collection is extremely important.
Please remember the Christians of the Holy Land on Good Friday and please keep
them in your prayers.
Thank you

Laudato Si’ Community Praise Be! That’s what Laudato Si’ encourages us to think and say on a regular basis.
This morning as I stood outside my back door watering the tomatoes, basil, lettuce,
chillies and parsley in their pots, I heard, before I saw, a flock of corellas singing their
distinctive chorus as they approached my suburb. As I stood and waited in
anticipation, eyes lifted skyward, I could hear them drawing closer and hoped that
they wouldn’t sheer away before crossing my line of sight. I was rewarded, as they
were flying in a southerly direction in the morning sun, and were loudly proclaiming to
everyone who wanted to listen that it’s a beautiful day for flying. As they flew in the
clear blue sky it was like a spill of diamonds across the area they covered, moving
together, sparkling and shrieking and giving a wonderful display. Once the main
group had passed, a group of stragglers followed. Nine or ten of them in arrowhead
formation which looked like a beautiful jewel that might hang around a lady’s neck.
Thank you Lord for showing me the beauty of the day through my senses, the smell of
the plants and the soil, the sound of the birds singing in their raucous chorus, the
jewels of your creation as they raced across the sky. Praise be!
This week, don’t forget to leave water out for passing birds, bees and creepy crawly
creatures in your garden.
