MINUTES OF THE GENERAL MEBTING OF MARCH 2l,20l$
Tm WR CHARETIE MOH Chapter 158 of the KWVA met this date in the media room
at the Polk County Summerlin Military Academy in Bartow, Florida.
kior to the beginning of the meeting, Commander Cohee presented Ralph Stolze with the
Peace Medal. Nancy Benton placed the medal around Mr. Stolze's neck.
Commander Cohere called the meeting to order at 10:30 AM. All Officers were present.
There was a quorum of officers and members. Commander Cohee gave the iovocation on
behalf of Chaplain Antilocft and Dick Champion led the pledge of allegiance to the flag.
The minutes to the meeting of February 2l,2Ol5 were published in the newsletter and
approved as published.
INTRODUCTION OF GI]ESTS
Richard and Arbutus Conrad of Michigan and Auburndale were introduced. They are
giving consideration to membership in 158.
REPORTS
1. Financial: The current balance is $1689.4'6 A detailed report was given and a copy is
attachedto these minutes. The report was approved pending audit.
2. Correspondence: Secretary Bradford had no correspondence to report this month.
3. Chaplainrs Report John Carter, a member living in Georgia, will have cardiac
surgery next week. Chapter 158 extends every wish for a successful procedure and a
speedy and unevendul recoverY.
4. Fundraising Chairman's Report: After a brief discussion regarding the continuance
of our scholarship programs, the membership declared the programs should-be--
continued ana aslea to have a fundraiser scheduled for October as close to Halloween as
possible at Sam's Club North in Lakeland.
5. Membership Report: Commander Cohee reported that he had removed three people
from membership; Don Black, Grady Halcomb and Al Meecham'
6. Veteran's Affairs Report No report.

T.Vetemns Council Report: A Welcome Viet Nam Veteran's Day will be held at
Lakeland Memorial Veteran's Park on March 20.
8. Newsletter Report: Editor Benton announced that he had an email from Col GaryClark about the Honor Flight leaving from Lakeland Airport to Washington DC on May19, and reminded that the application form for the trip was in last months newsletter. Headded that there was no cost to the Veteran for the trip, however there was a $4O0 cost fora guardian to accompany the Yeteran. The cost for a Guardian may be paid by theVeteran's council if necessary.
He asked for members to send any updates on address, email address etc for the roster tohim as soon as possible. Editor Benton stated that newsletter Ad renewals would be duein about three months which will generate additional funds for the chapter.
9. Social Report: no report today
OLD BUSINESS
1. Secretaryffreasure Bradford reported that he had visited the Polk County SchoolBoard and arranged for a $500 scholarship to be awarded to a Summerlin student. Theywill advise us of the date and time the presentation is to be made. A copy of the requiredScholarship Commitment form is attached to rhese minuies.
2. Mr. Bradford also confirmed that the payment for our liability insurance had beenmade.
3. Commander Cohee approved a 158 ad for the DOF Convention Book and will obtaininformation regarding the cost for the ad this year, to whom the ad and check should besent, and any details regarding color vs. black and white and camera readiness. DifferentChapters host the event each year, and establish their own cost for ads. They also eachhave different printers for the book with various specifications for the ad.

1. Walt Benton made a motion to send $4O0 to the Veteran's Council to help pay forGuardians for the Honor Flights. The motion was seconded by Jim Bradford and waspassed.
2. Chapter 158 members who were not present to receive the Peace Medal may attend aceremony to do so at the Lake Wales VFW next Saturday, March ?3 at ll AM. Any oneplanning to attend should contact Commander Cohee as soon as possible to assure that amedal is reserved for them. Dick Champion will be there to represent our Chapter.
