Our first 2010/2011 chapter season event will be a Study Group Orientation along with a review of the CBAP application process. We will also discuss a member social networking survey.,

Professional Development Updates

New Certification of Competency in Business AnalysisTM (CCBATM) Certification Application available end of 2010 Exam targeted for January, 2011

Additional formal recognition will become available in 2011 Qualification will not require just BA experience Specific exams for levels of recognition

BABOK Version 3.0 targeted for 2012 Online Competency Assessments targeted for 2012

Two Levels of Certification

CBAP Recertification required every three years

CCBA New! Test available in early January, 2011 Intermediate Designation Expires five years after certification

Relevant Work Experience 7500 hours in past 10 years

CBAP BABOK® Study Group Objectives

Learn the BABOK® v2.0 structure and knowledge areas

Prepare participants for the CBAP® exam through individual and cooperative group study

Clarify concepts presented in the BABOK® Provide additional information about BA skills and

techniques for further study The BABOK® study group is not:

a forum for discussing terminology or methodologies outside the BABOK®

Participant Roles & Responsibilities

Read the assigned chapter material IN ADVANCE Come to the meetings prepared to discuss the

material (and have all study materials available) Post questions about the material online

User Group will be available for posting messages to study group members.

Get your questions answered Volunteer to facilitate a study session Let the facilitator know if you’re going to miss a

session

Facilitator Roles & Responsibilities

You do not need to be a CBAP® to facilitate the sessions

Participants (especially facilitators) who engage in the study group, can earn Continuing Development Units (CDU's)

Record participant attendance Deliver ‘training’ in a virtual or face-to-face setting

Training includes: Review of chapter material Administration of hands on exercises and practice

exams
