INDIVIDUALISM

Individualism is the independence and uniqueness from other people.

An example of individualism is moving out when your at age, and having independence from your parents.

COLLECTIVISM

The idea that the thoughts of a group will be more beneficial than that of an individual.

An example of collectivism is donating money to charity. Someone who is wealthy helping the less fortunate to survive.

The idea that an individual freedom is more beneficial than that of a group.

An example of this is the liberal party in Canada.

Someone’s self-interest may be to go out and get a good job, rather than to sit on the couch and do nothing.

A rule that everyone is equal and has a right to the law.

An example is when you violate a traffic law, and run a red light. You are obligated to pay the ticket.

An example of private property is my house. My parents own and rule that certain area.
