impacted on attempts to reduce crime in the area. Although crime rates went down in the early years of the regeneration of
Hulme they have now risen again While the original mission was “the lasting regeneration of Hulme”
(Manchester City Council 1993) it has yet to be demonstrated that this has been accomplished.
