Wefindithardtoknowwhyandmaybeevenhardtobelieve,thattheCreatorwascreated.TheomnipotentGodbecamebreakable,vulnerable,andthroughtheincarnation,dependent.It’shardtofindtheanswertowhythecreatorbecomedependentuponayounggirlfornourishmentanduponabluecollarcarpenterforprotection,education,andaweeklyallowance.

Godwasgiveneyebrows,elbows,twolungsandtwokidneys.Likeallbabiesheneededtobecradled,caressedandcaredfor.Heworediapers,blewhisnoseandmaybeevengotthehiccupsatimeortwo.

Ifdrawingattentiontothesedetailsistroublingforyou,itmightbebecauseyouhaveneverexploredthethoughtofJesusinhumanterms.Butthat’swhattheincarnationisallabout,isn’tit?Consideringtheinconceivable,ponderingtheimpossible:Godbecameahumanbeing.

MaxLucadosaysit’smucheasiertokeepthehumanityoutoftheincarnation.WepretendJesusneversnored,orhithisthumbwithahammer.But,whenwekeephimdivinewekeephimdistant.Butbecausehecouldbearmysinsmoreeasilythanhecouldbearthethoughtofmyhopelessness,hechoosestocome.

YoumaybeinaplacewhereyouaretryingtofindtheanswertowhatJesusisallabout,whyyouwerecreated,orhowtomakeitthroughonemoreday.AlloftheanswerstothesequestionsarefoundinJesus.AndJesusdoesthisworkthroughtheHolySpiritinrelationshipsandinthechurch.

Understanding the CathedralCedar Park is a Cathedral ChurchEventhoughpeoplethinkofanactualcathedralwhentheyheartheterm“cathedralchurch,”theconcepthasnothingtodowiththestructureorsizeofthebuilding,buteverythingtodowithbuildingaministry.Simplyput,aCathedralChurchactsinaninspirationalandsupervisorycapacityoveravarietyofministriesdesignedtoservethewiderchurchandcommunity.Ittakesitsnamefromthemajorchurchofageographicalareafromwhichsmallerparishchurchesandministrieswereorganizedanddirected.InCedarPark’scontext,weareachurchthatservesandsupportsotherministriesbeyondwhatiscommonlyexperiencedinsmaller,localchurches.Whenmostpeoplethinkofachurch,theythinkofaworshipservice,SundaySchool,andayouthprogram.ACathedralChurchisallofthat,butitsessencereachesbeyondthosetraditionalprograms.ItisconcernedwiththefullnessofChristianministrythroughoutaregion.ThedistinguishingcharacteristicofeachministryisthattheyservethebroaderChristiancommunityandactasanoutreachtoourneighbors.

Prayer at Cedar ParkThePrayerMinistryisamulti-facetedministryfocusedonprayerfortheconcernsofthefriendsandfamilyatCedarParkandthetrainingofprayerwarriors.PrayerrequestsarecalledinandemailedtotheChurchOfficeduringregularofficehoursordirectlytothePrayerlineduringnon-officehours.TherequestsarethenforwardedtoadedicatedteamofprayerwarriorswhowillbringthepetitionsbeforetheLord.ThereareavarietyofsupportfunctionswithinthePrayerMinistryforbothtrainingandencouragement.Someoftheseincludecoursesonintercessoryprayer,specificprayerlistsandcoordinatedprayercoverageforspecialrequestsandevents.

CPMMretailshopisstaffedwithcompetent,professionalautomotivetechniciansofferingafullrangeofautomotiveservicesfromoilchangestoenginechanges,frombrakejobstocomputerdiagnostics.Theseservicesareofferedathourlyratesbelowlocalshoprates.CPMMalsoprovidesprofessionalautorepairstothegeneralpublictogenerateincomethatwillhelpfundourworkamongthosewhoarestrugglingfinancially.

Reaching out to Foster Children RoyalFamilyKids’Campisaninternationalorganizationthathasover170camps,includingsomeinternationalcamps.CedarParkChurchsponsorsalocalcamp.CedarParkChurchreachesouttolocalfosterchildrenandtheirfamiliesbyprovidingaweekofpositivememoriesandfunforchildrenwhohavebeenabused,abandoned,andneglected.OurcampisheldatCedarSpringsCampfacilitywherecampersgettoenjoyactivities,takehomegifts,andreceivealotoflove.Sincethesechildrenareshuffledfromonehometoanother,theyoftendonotgetabirthdayparty,soweprovideabigbirthdaypartyforthem.DuringtheweekofcamptherearechapelsandanotherfuntimecalledBreakfastClub.God’sloveissharedwiththecampersallweek.

Christmas Party AChristmasPartywillbeheldforthosecamperswhoattendedcampthissummeronSaturday,December5that2:00intheBothellchurchgym.Camperswillhaveachancetoreunitewithcampstaff.Therewillbefood,crafts,andgames,inadditiontogiftsforthecampers.

Volunteers Volunteersarescreenedandinterviewedandarerequiredtoattendseveraltrainings.Onecounselorisneededforeverytwocampers.Counselorsmustbe18.Nospecialskillsarerequired,justaheartforchildren.
