The Competition

How Does It Work?

• Reading teams are made up of students from Grades 6-12

• Each Team has 2 advisors

When will teams meet?

• Teams will meet 2 times per week on Saturdays and Wednesdays

– From: 9:15-9:35

• On these days, you will have an extended break after lunch instead of advisory

• The Book Bowl will last for 6 weeks

– From Nov. 7 – Dec. 22

• You choose which books you want to read

• But teams must read all the books so you can answer the questions in the competition

• You can earn extra points by creating Projects

• Winning teams win a Pizza & Bowling Trip

Team Strategy

Team Strategy • During your 1st meeting today, decide:

– A Team name

– Who will read each book (this is important!)

– Choose books that interest you and are at your reading level

– Brainstorm ways to remember the plot, characters and setting of the books

– Create a Timeline for reading the books

– Make some Creative Projects to earn points
