Capacity of E1 links

An E1 link is capable of supporting a maximum bit rate of 2.048 Mbps

• 32 channels each of 64 kbps

• 2 of these channels are used for signalling purposes

The effective available bit rate is 1.92 Mbps per E1 link

Example VCC allocations for a 2 x E1 Iub connection

VCC Cells per Second Equivalent Bit Rate

CNBAP 158 cps 67 kbps

DNBAP 315 cps 134 kbps

AAL2 SIG 158 cps 67 kbps

AAL2 UP 8198 cps 3476 kbps

AAL2 UP VCC must support common channels, dedicated channels and HSDPA

Iub overheads must be accounted for when evaluating the quantity of user plane traffic which can be supported

Proposed Configuration for 3.6/7.2/9.6 Mbps Throughput - 2(2)

Limitations:-

1. RF Conditions.2. Enough Power3. Real Time Traffic4. R99 Traffic5. IuPS Bandwidth6. SGSN to DCN Bandwidth

We have following limitations for getting the desired throughput:-

Requirements:-1.HSDPA Code Multiplexing2.HSDPA Proportional Fair Resource Packet Schedule3.Dedicated Carrier (Optional)4.HSDPA Layering License (If using Dedicated Carrier)5.HSUPA Activation (Optional but Recommended)
