HOW TO USE NOODLETOOLS:

Creating Chicago Style citations

• To start, click on the “New Project” tab.

• When “Create a new project” box pops up: Enter the name of your project Click submit

• NoodleTools automatically takes you to your Dashboard page.• To create citations – click the “Sources” tab at the top of the

page.

• Where is it? Click on one of

the available options.

• Each option will automatically open a menu of more specific sources. Click on the option

for your source.

• If a book lists the contributors as: Harry Harrison and Carol Pugner Enter Harry Harrison first, then click on “Add another

contributor” to put in Carol Pugner

Tips will automatically appear to help you locate the correct information.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click “Submit”

Creating the citation

• If only one chapter or one specific part of the book was used in your research, the citation is a bit different.EX:• Foreword• Preface• Chapter• Prologue

• Click on to open up the “Chapter or Section” to fill in the needed information.

Final Tip:If you need to cite more than one section in a book, you must create a

citation for each one.

NoodleTools makes this much easier:

• In the citations screen: Under options – choose copy

The next screen will ask you to create a copy under the same project - click the copy button When your copy citation is created –

choose edit in the “Options” menu.
