The Art Show in the Commons in February is the “Retirement Hobbies of Bob and Helen Rice.” The display of wooden items was produced by the late Bob Rice during his retirement years, 1984-2013. He enjoyed experimenting with his Shop Smith and giving gifts to family and friends. Helen designed and built over a dozen miniature buildings when she wasn’t quilting with the “Easy Stitchers.” Her best effort was the UM Church on display in the Commons.
The art shows are sponsored by the music ministry of FUMC to showcase talented visual artists within our church. Anyone wishing to show original artwork may call the church office to be put on the schedule.
