• Redesign of the Northern Beaches (Region 8) bus service plan • Substantial increase in bus capacity across the peak periods,
offering greater travel choices • Designed with express corridor and feeder services • Improved connectivity with local services and other transport
modes • B-Line is a new service introduced to provide a turn up and go
system
About the B-Line • A fleet of 38 brand-new double decker
buses • New commuter car parks with around 900
spaces • Ten modern B-Line bus stops at Newport
(proposed), Mona Vale, Warriewood, Narrabeen, Collaroy, Dee Why, Brookvale, Manly Vale, Spit Junction (Mosman) & Neutral Bay
• Improved connectivity between local and express services
• Roadwork to improve road functionality and reduce traffic congestion
• Ease congestion and improve public transport for the Northern Beaches
• Integrated pedestrian paths and cycle links

• B-Line services will begin on 26 November
• Over 2,000 weekly B-Line services • Easier for customers to transfer between the new B-Line and other local
services, including Wheeler Heights to Manly, Mona Vale to Milsons Point and Palm Beach to Manly.
• The new route E54 will provide frequent services during weekday peak
periods between Mona Vale and Milsons Point via North Sydney • Work on local road improvements is already underway and will continue into
2018.

Overview of works – Cremorne and Neutral Bay • Installing inbound and outbound B-Line bus
stops at Neutral Bay • Building a tidal flow system in Cremorne and
Neutral Bay to alleviate road traffic congestion and improve bus service reliability
• Adjust location of local stops to improve traffic flow during AM peak

Community Consultation – Harrison Precinct
• Meeting held 1-2 times a month with Zone C Committee
• Regular doorknocks and notifications to impacted stakeholders for night works, investigation works and preparation works (inc tree removal)
Duration reduction Purpose
• allows work to take place five nights per week (Sunday to Thursday) as opposed to original
agreement of two nights on x five nights off
Rationale
• reduce overall time we will be working in an area = minimise impact
Approvals
• Environment and Communications Teams
• guided by noise assessments
• demonstrated support by impacted stakeholders
Tree removal and offset planting
• Required to allow safe height clearance for the double decker buses
• Checked by an independent arborist, TfNSW project team and council
• Liaising with council regarding offset planting
North Sydney Council interface
The TfNSW Project team meets with North Sydney Council 1-2 times a month to discuss: • Active Transport • Tree removal and replanting • Urban design and landscaping • Design and construction coordination • Offset parking and options
