The S.I.R. project is a project within Y.E.S. whicli utilizes
Christian students to
conduct vital research of one of the 12
unreached
people groups in the world in order to find out what
is needed to enter
that
country and work among
that
people
group. In this program, a Christian student can serve for a short
term visit to do research as a rep for Y.E.S. and in this way go
into a foreign country as a student on an educational research
project. The student
can
spend a few days to study
the
culture
and
language of a people even in
remote
locations of the country,
without being seen as a threat to the government or it s political
position. A volunteer in the S.I.R. project will be assigned an
unreached people group. Volunteers will be asked to:
Spend one hour each month gathering information on
their
um-eached people group. We will show you what to
look for.)
Spend one hour each
month
in prayer for their unreached
people group. The information you collect will guide you in
your
prayers.
Participate in advanced research optional for each
volunteer), by spending 2-3 weeks in the country to
investigate
an
unreached people group, researching their
particular
needs. We will teach you what you need to know
to accomplish this.) The approximate cost for this trip is
S2.. >00.
