An emergency stop may be initiated manually by pressing the Emergency Stop Lever, or automatically by Stop Solenoid Valve 20DV-1. When 20DV-1 is energized, it cuts off fuel flow to the fuel injectors to shut down the diesel engine.

The Speed Control Lever is operated by a hydraulic cylinder. The hydraulic cylinder is controlled by Accelerating Solenoid Valves 20DA-1 and 20DA-2.

The Torque Converter and Ratchet Assembly is mounted on the diesel engine flywheel housing.

The sliding clutch hub is pulled into engagement by the simultaneous action of two hydraulic cylinders. When the starting device is driving the gas turbine, the sliding clutch hub is held in engagement by the driving force between the jaws of the clutch hubs.

33TM-4 is the Maximum Travel Switch for the Torque Adjustor Drive Motor, 88TM-1.

The main parts of the Flow Control Valve are the steam inlet flange, lower half of the combined valve seat, valve plug, valve stem, bias spring, spring plate, and operating lever. The upper half of the valve seat is for the Trip-Throttle Valve, which is installed on top of the Flow Control Valve.

The Trip-Throttle Valve is installed on top of the Flow Control Valve.

The Speed Governor Assembly maintains the speed of the Starting Expansion Turbine at any desired setting within the range of the Speed Governor.

A typical Starting Expansion Turbine includes a single stage turbine with a two-row bucket wheel. The turbine wheel is keyed to the rotor shaft.
