Gouranga + Rina

GOURANGA + RINA

These are my parents, Gouranga and Rina. They have been married for 30 years now

having met only twice before the day of their wedding. These drawings are based on

my understanding of who they were and are now, both as individuals and as a couple.

GOURANGA

Working is all my dad knows. He worked his way up from the bottom from day one all on

his own until it was all gone. A torn retina and two failed surgeries that left him blind and

on disability. He is a man who likes to be in command of every little thing but for the past

decade in a half he has been living under the command of his disbility checks.

RINA

My mother on the other hand has lived her life under the command of first her elders and

now her husband.
