• Count 3rd molars (wisdom teeth) even if not present

Types of Teeth

• Incisor

• A tooth with a cutting edge (8)

I, II, III, IV, V• Named by location on tooth surface and whether

tooth is anterior or posterior

Applies to Class I & Class II

• O (Occlusal)• MO (Mesio-Occlusal)• DO (Disto-Occlusal)• MOD (Mesio-Occlusal Distal)

Class I

Fillings in fissures and pits. They are located on the occlusal surface of premolars and molars

Cavity Classes

Occlusal

Class II

Fillings in posterior teeth(premolars, molars), including the interproximal surface.

Cavity Classes

Class III

Fillings on anterior teeththat are on the interproximal surface.

Cavity Classes

Class IV

Fillings on anterior teeththat include the incisal edgeand interproximal surface
