Gamla, Israel - a visual study of this significant historical and archaeological site. Gamla is mentioned in the Talmud and depicted there as a walled city dating from the period of Joshua (the Bronze Age). After Gamla was destroyed by the Romans, in 67 CE, it was never reconstructed and was then lost and forgotten for 1900 years. In 1968, Gamla was rediscovered by Yitzhaki Gal, who participated in the environmental survey of the Golan Heights. 44 photos.
