The fuelling company at EBAW is Air BP.

Fuel uplift will be charged to the aircraft Air BP fuel card. A fuel card will be kept in each aircraft documents folder. This is the only fuel card available, please be carefull not to loose it.

Fuelling is done at the fuel station on Apron 1.

Fuelling can only start after an Air BP representative unlocks the JET-A1 pump. If nobody is present upon arrival at the pump call: +32 475 44 97 79. (The fueller is probably fuelling VLM or other jets aircraft with the mobile truck).

Briefing EBAW operations

Briefing EBAW operations

After fuelling is complete check the fuel uplift is correct and sign the fuel receipt. Enter in the aircraft logbook: “FUEL UPLIFT .......... LITERS AFTER/BEFORE FLIGHT”.

The fuel receipt goes into the fuel receipt folder (per month) in the ASL briefing room.

As a courtesy to the next crew, always refuel after your last flight. (if everybody does it your aircraft will always be fuelled when you arrive!).

Fuelling with the Air BP card can be performed at the following airports:

Oostende (Belgium) Liege (Belgium) other - see complete list in booklet in fuel folder.

Briefing EBAW operations

Flight Release Form

Must be filled out for every flight with the correct w&b data and performance calculations.

One engine out performance

For every take off the possibility of a failed engine must be considered. If solid IMC conditions prevail, an accurate escape route must be calculated to allow clearing the obstacles without visual contact and climb to MSA. For this all information must be gathered from VFR charts, aerodrome charts, approach charts for terrain data as well as aircraft POH for performance.

NOTEUsing the Go Around procedure as escape route is not a guarantee for safe obstacle clearance as it requires a minimun gradient of 2,5% and is calculated from a point well above the airport elevation (DH/MDH)!

Briefing EBAW operations

Before every training flight it is mandatory to:

Call the airport tower(s) of intended destination(s) and advise them of your:

call signname of PIC (instructor)ETAintentions (e.g. T&G’s, multiple approaches, holdings,….)duration of flightintention to make a full stop or not.

Call the airport navigation office and advise them of your:call signname of PIC (instructor)ETAintentions (full stop, T&G’s, approaches,...)number of passengers on board.

Briefing EBAW operations

The trainee must present himself to the EBAW navigation office prior to his first flight at EBAW with the original form “Aanvraag verminderd trainingstarief” (with original stamp + signature) and his/her licence will be checked.

Copies of the document “Aanvraag verminderd trainingstarief” are NOT accepted at the EBAW navigation office.

Briefing EBAW operations

Landing fees for EBAW and all other airports are directly invoiced to SFA.

Passenger fees are already paid by SFA. (Please inform the Airport Navigation Office (EBAW) before your flight and give the number of passenger on board for each flight).

Briefing EBAW operations

For flights with destination / departure EBOS a special form (verkeersformulier) has to be completed after the flight and sent to the Navigation office in Ostend. This can be done via fax until 24 hours after departure. In case this form is not correctly completed or not received by the Navigation office, a fine will have to be paid. This fine will have to be paid by the student and is at least 125€.

As a backup call the Navigation office after the flight to report the flight and to confirm the reception of your form.
