Scheduling

In order to provide continuity for our middle school students:

ELA/Math meets daily for 2 periods all year

During school students at FMS-SGS campus will receive science, social studies, elective classes in a semester format (Social Studies/Science/Electives).

During semester 1 (Sept-Jan) & Semester 2 (Feb-June), students will follow their schedule and meet daily with teachers for all subjects.

Full year electives, Band, Chorus, Dance, Orchestra

Scheduling

Teachers will plan for lessons that include varied opportunities. For example, a teacher may start a lesson with a mini lesson that is delivered through a powerpoint presentation, then clarify expectations for the task.

Following a teacher can direct students to do an a task on their own while a teacher meets with a small group and or the teacher facilitates the learning for students..

Teachers can choose to engage the class right at that moment in next steps for the lesson, or have students work in small groups, with the teacher or with their peers to demonstrate understanding.

The goal is to maximize instructional minutes, where connections to students, the curriculum and one another is the focus.
