Forming a consensus

• After a discussion between Grade7 and Grade8 Students, looking at the rate of accidents observed in the city , a consensus was formed and the idea- “Follow Traffic Rules” was chosen to be implemented.

• This was chosen because students felt that this was one issue which was very evident around them and that they will be actually be able to make a difference by influencing some people.

• Children started off with the implementation week through surveys, conversation with entire Fountainhead staff including- transportation staff, Didis, Kitchen staff at School Community level.

• They prepared posters for promoting their idea.

• They promoted their idea during School Assembly.

• The DFC groups went to different classes to create awareness.• They ran a DFC stall during Creative Mela (2nd October, 2011) and inquired, analyzed and pursued the parents to follow the traffic rules.• They also collaborated with G. D. Goenka school for implementation.• The data of surveys, conversation with parents, School visits etc. in the form of tables, pictures and videos has been recorded.

IMPLEMENTATION WEEK PICTURES AND DATA

• Students carried out a survey on number of seatbelts in working condition in school buses.

• They represented their data in form of Tables.• Table 01 shows the data collected before.• Students represented their findings to the

school administration and necessary steps were taken by the school.

• Table 02 shows the impact of student’s representation and positive feedback from school.
