SPECIFICATION NOTES:-
1. THIS DRAWING TO BE READ IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE MECHANICAL
SERVICES SPECIFICATION.
2. ALL NEW HIGH LEVEL PIPEWORK TO BE INSULATED, INCLUDING PIPES
HIGHLIGHTED IN THE CEILING VOID SPACES, CLASSROOMS AND STORE
ROOMS. INSULATION SHALL BE PHENOLIC FOAM. EXPOSED HIGH LEVEL
PIPES ARE TO BE FINISHED WITH A WHITE ISOGENOPAK COVER, THE
INSULATION WILL BE FULLY LABELLED WITH FUNCTION OF PIPE, IE, 'VT HTG
FLOW' INCLUDING DIRECTIONAL ARROWS.
3. INSULATION THICKNESS TO BE AS PER THE TABLES SHOWN IN THE
SPECIFICATION.
4. NEW PIPEWORK TO BE INSTALLED AND CO-ORDINATED IN SYMPATHY WITH
THE BUILDING INTERNAL FABRIC AND OTHER INTERNAL SERVICES
INCLUDING THE ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION.
5. UPON COMPLETION THE WHOLE OF THE NEW PIPE INSTALLATION IS TO BE
PRESSURE TESTED AND COMMISSIONED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
SPECIFICATION.
6. UPON COMPLETION, THE NEW PIPEWORK INSTALLATION IS TO BE
PRESSURE TESTED TO A MINIMUM OF 6 BAR. REFER TO THE SPECIFICATION
FOR DETAILS.
7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL ALL THE NEW HEATING AND DOMESTIC
WATER PIPEWORK FITTINGS BRACKETS ETC.
8. THE MAIN CONTRACTOR SHALL UNDERTAKE ALL THE NECESSARY
BUILDER'S WORK REQUIRED TO FULLY INSTALL THE MECHANICAL
INSTALLATION INDICATED ON THE DRAWING. MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR
SHALL PROVIDE FULL BUILDING WORK DETAILS TO ALLOW THE MAIN
CONTRACTOR TO UNDERTAKE THIS ITEM OF WORK .
9. ALL LOW POINTS TO BE FITTED WITH DRAIN OFF VALVES.
10. ALL HIGH POINTS SHALL BE FITTED WITH AUTOMATIC AIR VENTS.
11. THE WHOLE OF THE NEW INSTALLATION IS TO BE TESTED AND
COMMISSIONED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SPECIFICATION.
12. THE UNDERFLOOR HEATING SYSTEM SHALL BE SUPPLIED AND INSTALLED
BY A SPECIALIST INSTALLER WHO SHALL BE EMPLOYED BY THE
MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR REFER TO THE SPECIFICATION FOR DETAILS
13. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INCLUDE ALL THE NECESSARY SUPPORT
BRACKETING REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE WHOLE INSTALLATION. THE
SUPPORT BRACKETING SYSTEM SHOULD BE BASED ON "UNISTRUT" RAIL
SYSTEM FOR ALL HIGH LEVEL PIPEWORK WITH STUD IRON & RING CLIPS.
14. ALL LOW LEVEL PIPEWORK SHALL BE SUPPORTED USING MANUFACTURED
SCHOOLBOARD PATTERN STAND OFF CLIPS SUITABLE FOR MAPRESS
CARBON STEEL INSTALLATIONS.
15. MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR TO NOTE - THE PIPEWORK LOCATIONS,
POSITIONS, ETC, ARE INDICATIVE OF THE DESIGN INTENT. THE FINAL PIPE
LOCATION AND FIXING POSITIONS MUST BE AGREED WITH THE CONTRACT
ADMINISTRATOR PRIOR TO THE INSTALLATION.
16. HEATING UNDERFLOOR MANIFOLD CIRCUITS TO BE CONTROLLED BY THE
NEW BMS CONTROL SYSTEM. THIS SHALL INCLUDE THE SUPPLY AND
INSTALLATION OF ALL THE ROOM TEMPERATURE SENSORS AND
ASSOCIATED CONTROL BMS MANIFOLD 'OUTSTATIONS' AND
INTERCONNECTING WIRING.
17. FOR FULL DETAILS OF THE BMS CONTROL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION AND
STRATEGY REFER TO THE SCHEMATIC DRAWINGS AND THE SPECIFICATION.
NOTE - ALL PIPES PASSING THROUGH WALLS AND CEILINGS/FLOORS SHALL BE
SLEEVED AND USING A MATCHING PIPE ONE SIZE LARGER THAN THE SERVICE
PIPE. THE PIPE AND SLEEVE SHALL BE SEALED WITH APPROVED FIRE
RETARDANT SEALANT. ALL PIPES SHALL BE FITTED WITH THE CORRECTLY
SIZED, MANUFACTURED CHROME PLATED WALL/FLOOR COVER PLATES.

M&E SUB-CONTRACTOR SHALL EMPLOY UNDERFLOOR HEATING
SPECIALIST CONTRACTOR TO DESIGN, MANUFACTURE AND INSTALL
UNDERFLOOR HEATING TO ALL HATCHED AREAS. THE SYSTEM SHALL
INCORPORATE ALL PIPEWORK. MANIFOLDS, SENSORS AND CONTROLS.
THE SYSTEM SHALL BE CAPABLE OF CONTROLLING EACH OCCUPIED
AREA SEPARATELY
