Breakfast Express served up the last of the cold breakfasts for the season

Stand with Low-wage Workers - On November 10, working people will

stand up together for a day of action calling on corporations to stop pay-

ing wages so low that we can’t make ends meet and demanding that the

New York State Senate pass a $15 minimum wage statewide for all

workers. Rallies will be held at 12pm in the Empire State Plaza and

5:30pm at the East Capitol lawn, with other actions during the day. For

Food is a Human Right – Join us on Monday November 23 as FOCUS

with the Faith and Hunger Network will call on elected officials to make

ending hunger and poverty a priority, and insist that “Food is a Human

Right.” We will gather at Emmanuel Baptist at 10:30am for an interfaith

reflection on hunger, speak to the press and walk to the Capital to deliv-

er legislative priorities to state lawmakers. For more info, or if you plan

Christ’s Church Serve Albany event,

Ignite, is right around the corner on

November 5. This event is a great way

for lots of people to find ways to serve

in our city. You can help spread the

FOCUS will be there!

The FOCUS Winter Breakfast will be open Thursday, November 26th. Help

is needed (6:30 am- 9 am) serving, floating, cooking, dishwashing, coffee

2. Hungry for Justice Goes to L.A.

The FOCUS "Hungry for Justice"

pilot geared to engage 18-29 yr.

olds in the work of advocacy will

be on display Nov. 4-7 in Los An-

geles at the American Baptist of

America Conference, "Space for

Grace".

This pilot was made possible

through the American Baptist

Foundation Palmer Grant.
