DESCRIPTION

Parents are the first and foremost teachers of the faith in any religion. Yet some parents struggle with passing on the faith effectively to their children. This presentation discusses the foundation of parents as first teachers of the faith, but extends the discussion to include ways the faith community can respond to support parents in that role of first teachers of the faith. This presentation is offered for viewing by Roger Jay Schroeder of Comprise | Consulting and Enrichment. Preserving the Faith | Investing in the Future

Is 8:23-9:3-1

First the Lord degraded the land of Zebulunand the land of Naphtali; but in the end he has glorified the seaward road, the land west of the Jordan, the District of the Gentiles.

Anguish has taken wing, dispelled is darkness: for there is no gloom where but now there was distress.

The people who walked in darknesshave seen a great light; upon those who dwelt in the land of gloom a light has shone.

You have brought them abundant joyand great rejoicing, as they rejoice before you as at the harvest, as people make merry when dividing spoils.

For the yoke that burdened them, the pole on their shoulder, and the rod of their taskmasteryou have smashed, as on the day of Midian.

All Are Welcome…. Aren’t They?

Effectiveness of parents is critical

about an observation.”

• Some kids don’t know how to pray.

• parents don’t come to meetings.

• Some kids don’t seem to care.
