SummerStarter ProgramHIGH GPA, LOW LSAT SCORE?
The Summer Starter Program is a unique opportunity for students whose outstand-ing undergraduate performance indicates probable academic success in graduate school despite disproportionate LSAT scores. This is a demanding 8-week program that challenges students with a rigorous schedule of two first year law courses with frequent examinations and evaluations. Upon completion of the Summer Starter courses, students will have earned eight hours of credit that can give them an added edge in their legal education. This is not a summer qualifier program. Once admitted as a Summer Starter, the student is a member of the entering fall class as well.
Small classes, individual attention and a greater chance for student participation and class interaction are hallmarks of the Summer Starter program. We believe that students selected for our Summer Starter Program reap the benefits of a “jump start” in their legal education and that their potential for success is unlimited. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity.
“The Summer Starter Program was an awesome experi-ence. It taught me how to study and prepare for a law school exams which I think is critical to any law student. However, the relationships I made with my fellow classmates during the summer was the biggest benefit from the summer pro-gram because it was where I was able to establish relation-ships with fellow students who support my academic and personal growth.”ZACHARY BRUMFIELD, 2-L

“I cannot even begin to explain what an advantage the summer start-er program is for students. By the time the rest of the class gets to campus, you already have confidence to speak up in class, you know what exams will be like, you have a relationship with professors, and you have made a ton of great friends who will support you through the rest of law school. It is also fantastic preparation for the time manage-ment that you need to succeed in law school.”JENNIFER KINSLEY, 2-L
“The Summer Starter Program allowed me to learn how to take tests, understand how to read cases, and how different methods in the classroom are used, which took some of the pressure off of my first year. Not only did it help relieve pressure, it also allowed me to start my first year with a good grade point average and build from there.”THERESA DANIEL, 3-L
“If I could do it all over again I would not change a thing about my experience in the Summer Starter Program. Not only did I gain valu-able insight on how to begin to study the law, but I also made close friends who have been able to help me wade through the rigors of law school.”IAN EVANS, 2-L
