The 2009 ESA Conference will be held atISCTE, FCSH/UNL and ICS/UL

PLACES CONFERENCE

ISCTE

• The auditoriums (11); • Workshop rooms (52); • Computer rooms (5); • Meeting rooms (5) and • One “reception room” for media for interviews with the

academics and guest participants will be located in Buildings I, II and Ala Autónoma (AA).

The registration, information desk and most services will be located in the main open area of ISCTE.

The 2009 ESA Conference will be held atISCTE, FCSH/UNL and ICS/UL

PLACES CONFERENCE

Towers A, B and Building 1

The information desk, book exhibitions and most services will be located in the open area of the Social and Human Sciences Faculty.

ICS/UL

In this institute (at the same building of the ISCTE) there is, one room for the ESA staff, one medium size auditorium for the ESA committee meetings and one workshop room equipped with internet connection

Aula Magna/UL

The opening and the closing sessions will take place in the Aula Magna (Main Hall) of the Lisbon University Rectory (2000 seats).

LUNCH FACILITIES

Catering services for a large number of participants will be available for lunch in two main locations at ISCTE and at FCSH/UL. Besides those special services there will be other lunch facilities available to participants:

COFFE BREAK FACILITIES

The ISCTE Bar/terrace will also be open every day from 9h00 to 20h00. Food & drink vending machines will be available in the open area (ISCTE, Building II).

The FCSH/UNL Terrace will also be open every day from 9h00 to 20h00. Food & drink vending machines will be available in the open area (FCSH/UNL, Building B1).

ACCOMMODATION

There are many hotels close to ISCTE, FCSH e ICS.

Rooms for students are also available in student’s residences.

The Airport is next to the University Campus.

Restaurants

The Lisbon Tourism Office will prepare a list of good quality and low cost restaurants, where foreign languages are spoken, and well known hospitality.

An alternative list of restaurants, bars, discos, etc will also be provided to students, especially indicating places where they can have a nice meal and enjoy themselves without spending a lot.

SIGHTSEEING TOURS

The Lisbon Tourism Office will provide a 1500 “Follow Me” brochures and 1500 city maps

Tours suggestions

LISBON – downtown, Parliament, Belém and CCB, Castle and old quarters, Expo.

Sintra – city centre palace and souvenirs, Palácio da Pena e Quinta da Regaleira

Évora and Alentejo Coast

Coimbra University

All documentation should be submitted on time to be

approved by ESA Executive Committee and the board

of Research Networks and Research Streams in strict

cooperation with the Local Committee.
