At OpenLiving Lab Days 2015, two LL managers: !“Problem solving is key to stimulate user involvement”!“Users needs to be put at the beginning of the value chain”

Fundao, PortugalSmall city in the central hills of Portugal, high unemployment rate. !Launch of Social Innovation Strategy in 2011: opening of FabLab, Incubator and co-working space to attract start ups and investments. !Now perceived as service center: 300 highly qualified jobs, 40 start-ups, 10 innovative NGOs!
User-centered innovation: for all! !Helsinki, FinlandIn one experiment, school children in Helsinki started a competition between classes to see who could produce the greatest energy savings. Using smart meters, they discovered that the highest consumption came from the school kitchen, so they re-negotiated the weekly menu with the cooks. !!Citizen-Driven Innovation, ENoLL and World Bank !
