Pine resin Pavement

Instead of applying conventional asphalt to create walkways, Potawot chose to implement pine resin pavement in order to ease the potential impact on the land.

Update+Durable-Cracks and vegetation growing through the walkway-Sink holes

• Overall, the pavement is like that of other materials, it does it's job well but can get rundown.

Stormwater treatment pond

Part of a larger water treatment system at Potawot, the pond treats 100% of the water that is channeled into the system.

The water comes from the parking lot & building runoff from storms.

Update+Vegetation increase+ Increase in healthiness of wetland ecosystem-Decrease in accessibility

• Overall the increase in vegetation has made it slightly more difficult to access drains for maintenance.

Swales

• Channel storm water directly into the treatment pond.

• Water travels both above the ground surface and below.

• Uses gravity to transport water• Connected by culverts & forms a

system to channel runoff into the treatment pond.

Update + Continued success in diverting storm water and recreating a wetland habitat. - biomass buildup

• Overall, the swales seemed to function well at preventing flooding and reducing runoff.
