Properly titled messages help people know what they are about!

Unnecessary messages are annoying!

Only direct your message to the people you want to send it to.

By choosing Reply to All you end up sending your response to people who do not want to, or you don´t even know!

Just as it's not polite to give out a person's phone number without his or her knowledge, it's not polite to broadcast everyone's e-mail address.!

When you send a message to 30 people and use the To or CC, all 30 people see each other's address!

By using BCC, each recipient sees only two addresses --theirs and yours!

Messages that are too long are BORING!

IT MAKES IT LOOK LIKE YOU'RE SHOUTING!

IT'S ALSO MORE DIFFICULT TO READ.

Anyone can easily forward your message, even accidentally.

This could leave you in an embarrassing position if you shared confidential information!

When you talk to someone face-to-face, your body language, the tone of your voice, and your expressions give great meaning to what you say.

These non-verbal cues may be more important than your words!

You can personalize your written communication by using a smiley:

a "face" you create from keyboard characters.

:-) HAPPY:-( SAD- ANGRY:-x NOT SAYING A WORD:-l GRIM:-o WOW!:-r or :-p TONGUE OUT

The message contains your e-mail address in the header, but the recipient may not know that the sender's address is yours, especially if it's different from your real name.

WHO SENT THIS?

This is very important because improper spelling, grammar and punctuation give a bad impression !

E-mails with no full stops or commas are difficult to read! And can sometimes even change the meaning of the text.

And, if your program has a spell checking option, why not use it?

If you receive an email message warning you of a new unstoppable virus that will immediately delete everything from your computer, this is most probably a hoax.

By forwarding hoaxes you use valuable bandwidth and sometimes virus hoaxes contain viruses themselves!

The same goes for chain letters that promise incredible riches or ask your help for a charitable cause.
