About Electricity and Magnetism
By: Aaron Lim
What is Electricity?
Electricity is moving electrons. Electrons are part a atom. An atom is the smallest particle on earth. Atoms are a part of everything.
cool fact: even molecules are made out of ATOMS!
What is Magnetism?Magnetism is the push and pull of magnets. There is a magnetic field wherever magnetism is. Earth is a giant magnet. The magnetic field of the earth blocks solar wind. learn more in poles.
How Does Electricity Work?Electricity works by power grids, generators, solar and etc.
There is more than gas, solar, wind, and nuclear powers (like hydro turbines)
even magnetism is a generator
How Does Magnetism Work?Magnetism works by electricity (electromagnet). Electromagnets are temporary. But sometimes it is just a permanent magnet.

How are Electricity and Magnetism Connected?
Electricity is connected to magnetism by electricity making magnetism (electromagnet) and magnetism making electricity (generator). Some electric devices uses magnetism.
More next page.
What are Some Practical Uses of Electricity and magnetism?Computers, headphones, maglev trains (maglev: magnetic levitation), motors (like hair dryers and fans etc.) use electricity and magnetism.

Vocabulary: PolesPoles of the magnet is where the magnet’s magnetic field starts and ends (the North and South). The earth’s magnetic field has no line of symmetry.

Electromagnet
An electromagnet is a magnet made out of electricity.
simple electromagnet
Static ElectricityElectricity made out of discharge and charge (lightning is static electricity) like dragging your feet (discharging) and then touching the door handle (regaining).
Schematic drawing
A plan or review of a circuit using symbols.
Force
The power of magnets (attracting and repelling).
