'Smoking'Smoking is the leading cause of death in Australia.
Smoking is killing more Australians every year than road accidents, alcohol and other drugs.
The percentage of people smoking has decreased due to the introduction of tougher laws and advertising.
Twelve months after you quit smoking, your increased risk of dying from heart disease is half that of a continuing smoker.
There are over 4000 chemicals in a cigarette.

There are many different organisations that can help quit smoking, these include;

Why People Choose to Smoke.Peer pressure or poor role modelling is often the main
cause of why people choose to smoke. When they start smoking a cigarette they will get addicted from all the
chemical's inside. Although their are advertising and rules to help reduce the amount of people smoking, people
still choose to.
Immediate Effects of Smoking.Immediate effects take place after 20minutes of smoking a cigarette include;
Increased blood pressure and heart rate
Dizziness
Brain and nervous system activity over-stimulated
Reduced blood flow to extremities, including fingertips and toes
Bad breath
Poor sense of taste and smell
Long-Term Effects.Long term effects of smoking include;
Increased risk of stroke and brain damage
Possible hearing loss
Eye cataracts, muscular degeneration, yellowing of the whites of the eyes
Loss of smell and taste
Yellows teeth, tooth decay and bad breath
Cancer of the nose, lip, tongue and mouth
Grey skin
Early wrinkles
Stained yellow brown skin because of the tar
Slower healing of wounds
Laryngeal and Pharyngeal cancers
Damage to blood vessels
Contributes to osteoporosis
Heart disease
Blockages in blood supply, leading to heart attacks
Hyper tension
Myeloid leukaemia, a cancer that effects the bone marrow and organs that produce blood
