2010EDIBLE BOOK

FESTIVAL

The Festival• Across the world, the International Edible Book

Festival is held on April 1. This year the Annandale Campus Library is joining in the fun as part of our National Library Week Celebration. This one day edible festival of books and food is held on the birthday of French gastronome Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin (1755-1826). He was the author of The Physiology of Taste, or, Meditations on Transcendental Gastronomy , a witty meditation on food.

Each entry of edible art must have something to do with books as shapes and/or content, or be based on a book title, a book cover, or book character(s). We reserve the right to determine exhibitors. Books can be made out of anything edible…there are sandwich books, leaves of seaweed, filo dough books, cakes, spam-books, hot-dog entries. We invite you to join our festival either as an edible book creator . If you want to create an entry - send your name and contact info to pderoy@nvcc.edu by March 26, 2010. Then, on April 1, 2010 bring your edible book to the library before 10 A.M.
