I attended kindergarten in the Philippines. The classroom learning tools consisted of a chalkboard, paper, pencils, pens, erasers, crayons/markers, scissors, and books.

No television and computers.

Various classrooms had whiteboards, chalkboards, transparencies, and smart boards.

There were classes that provided hands on experience for photography, metal shop, jewelry making, computers, and other vocational studies.

Students brought supplies to school such as mechanical pencils, flash drives, high tech calculators, laptops, etc.

A Smart-board makes learning fun and interactive. This technology can also be used for all grade levels.

It’s like a computer on a whiteboard that teacher’s can use for their lessons and is a great way to get the students involved.

I want my students to be able use skype.com on a computer. For this activity, I want my students to be able to find and communicate with a friend from a school in another country.

This will expose my students to different cultures that will help them understanding and develop skills to cope better in a diverse world.

I would like to use holographic technology in my classroom. This will enhance the child’s learning by being able to see a 3d image making my lessons easier to visualize.

A challenge or barrier for using technology in my classroom is the lack of funds to purchase computers and software.

Also, the lack of knowledge for the different software that are available for students. Kidspiration is a technology

that helps a child brainstorm and organize their ideas for a writing assignment.
