Classroom Management

Be Creative!

Band-Aid Lesson • Each child comes up with a fake ailment (headache, broken finger,

paper cut etc.) • Call up each student one at a time and ask them what their ailment

is and pretend like you are going to put the Band-Aid on their wound (but don’t)

• Instead put the Band-Aid on the back of their hand and ask them to sit back down and call up the next student

• It will likely lead to interesting conversations by the end • Regroup students and explain to them that everyone got a Band-Aid

on the back of their hand because everyone had an aliment giving everyone one Band-Aid was “fair” (students will then typically express that this model doesn’t make sense)

• I then introduce the following poster and talk about fair doesn’t always mean equal… iPads, ball chairs, gum, fidget toys, pull out teachers, para access, enrichment, more time with teacher etc.
