Types of Drugs• Depressants: Alcohol, Barbiturates,

Benzodiazepines, Toxic Inhalants• Stimulants: Caffeine, Amphetamines,

Nicotine, Cocaine, Ecstasy• Narcotics: Opium, Heroin, Morphine,

Methadone, Codeine• Hallucinogens: LSD, Mescaline,

Psilocybin, PCP, Ketamine• Marijuana

Effects From Different Types of Drugs

• Depressants: Calming Effect, induce sleep and arrest breathing in high doses

• Stimulants: Increased alertness, energy, aggression, and paranoia

• Narcotics: Feeling of well-being, relaxation, increases stupor & lethargy

• Hallucinogens: Alternation of sensation and perception (Hallucinations)

• Marijuana: Mild hallucination, heightened sense of sight and sound
