GAS RESERVES

AP PCPIR abuts Krishna Godavari Basin (KG Basin), highest gas reserves in India. Reliance Industries and ONGC already supplying gas (85 MMSCMD) from KG Basin.

Gas distribution network being developed for supplying gas to PCPIR units.

PORTS :Visakhapatnam Port - India's largest cargo handling port (65MMTPA)

Gangavaram Port - India's deepest port (21 m draft ),automated handling. Present capacity 35MMTPA, and ultimate capacity 200 MMTPA

Kakinada Deep Water Port - 4 berths with 12 MMTPA handling capacity having 13 mt draft

PCPIR EXPRESSWAY

PCPIR expressway from Visakhaptnam Port / Gangavaram Port to Kakinada planned – 138km - A dedicated road for speedy movement of PCPIR cargo

Proposed to be taken up in two phases under PPP mode (BOOT Basis).

PHASE – I: Visakhapatnam port / Gangavaram port to APSEZ (35 KM)Cost : Rs. 220.30 Cr

APIIC/GoAP in association with INCAP, IFC and Halcrow consulting Engineers has taken up the study of this project.

Alignment finalized Part of the alignment in the final reaches passes through Steel Plant Land Certain Land related issues to be finalized with RINL (Vizag Steel Plant) Bids to be invited, after the alignment clearance

PHASE – II: APSEZ, Atchuthapuram to Kakinada(103 KM) IFC has commissioned M/S. Ayesa (Spain) & Feed back Infra for conducting the

feasibility studies. Inception report & Alignment options note submitted by the consultant Alignment option to be finalize in meeting with all the stake holders

APIIC has initiated land acquisition for Phase-I

RAIL LINK TO APSEZ

APIIC engaged RITES as consultants for studying the feasibility and detailed project report for rail link APSEZ

It is proposed to take the consent of NTPC for branching off their Railway siding at Desapatrunipalem.

Land Acquisition to be initiated after in principle approval of NTPC

Plans are afoot to create a logistics hub in APSEZ.
