Dress code
Our College community recognises
Kawana Waters State College’s
( KWSC) image is important in the local
community, and a College dress code
policy has therefore been developed.
The Kawana Waters State College
uniform is compulsory for all students
when travelling to and from the College,
during school hours, and at College
functions.
Pride in personal presentation and pride
in being a part of a team are important
qualities that our dress code aims to
develop.
Our students are expected to wear the
full uniform without any alterations or
‘fashionable’ additions.
A more detailed version of the College
uniform policy is available in each
student’s handbook and at
www.kawanawaterssc.eq.edu.au.
Footwear Socks: Socks must be plain white and ankle
length.
Stockings: Navy or skin toned stockings may
be worn in cooler months.
Years 5 to 12: Black lace up shoes.
Prep to Year 4: Black lace up or velcro shoes.
Shoes must be leather or leather like (no canvas
or mesh). The top part of students’ feet must be
covered for safety reasons. Boots are not
acceptable.
Jewellery The wearing of jewellery is permitted under strict
guidelines.
Earrings: One pair of sleepers (less than
1.5cm diameter) OR small studs (less than 3mm
diameter) are allowed.
Other approved items: Watch, signet ring
(religious flat ring), necklace of religious/cultural
significance on long chain to be worn inside shirt
so it is safe and cannot be seen. All other facial
and body jewellery is prohibited.
School bags Students are expected to bring a suitable bag to
carry all necessary books and equipment.
Handbags are not acceptable.
Formal occasions
All students are expected to wear the Day Uniform
when they are attending an excursion, representing
the College at special events, attending awards
ceremonies or having their school photo taken.
On these formal occasions, girls may wear the
KWSC blouse and tie or KWSC dress and tie.
Boys should wear the KWSC button-front shirt and
KWSC navy shorts. In some instances, boys may
be required to wear KWSC long pants and a tie
(supplied by the College) with their shirts tucked in.
On special occasions students may also be required
to wear a blazer (provided by the College).
Hats
Primary Campus: All primary students must
wear a wide brimmed KWSC hat. A strict ‘no hat,
no play’ policy is enforced.
Secondary Campus: The KWSC cap is the only
permissible head wear to be worn on the secondary
campus. Students must wear the KWSC cap when
participating in all outdoor class activities.
Day Uniform

unless physical activities are scheduled on
