Dear

What do the following organizations have in common?

Boy Scouts of America, Troop 16 ~ DeKalb County Community Foundation ~ DeKalb County Forest Preserve District ~ Ellwood House Museum ~ Master Gardeners of

DeKalb County ~ Midwest Museum of Natural History ~ Northern Illinois Food Pantry ~ Northern Illinois University (NGOLD, History Department, Museum Studies program,

Public Administration program, and Fine Arts Department) ~ Sycamore Public Library ~ Sycamore High School ~ Sycamore School District’s OSCAR program ~ University of

Illinois Extension

These are our partners. SHM may be small, but we have a huge impact in our community because we collaborate with other resourceful organizations throughout our community. This allows us to

reach new audiences, offer programs SHM alone would not be able to support, and

impact more people without additional resources.

These partnerships are a result of building relationships, establishing trust, and creatively thinking of new ways to work together. Consequently, this year we were able to reach the following groups: Over 200 children who used our gardens as an outdoor classroom Over 225 students who experienced learning about local history in authentic learning places (the DeKalb County Community Foundation’s Freight Room and DeKalb

County Forest Preserve District’s 1835 Miller Cabin) Over 170 people were first time visitors or attendees to SHM programs. Visitors from over 27 zip codes who came to see our award winning exhibit “Connecting a Community: How One Railroad Shaped a Small Town.”

We ask for your support in the Sycamore History Museum’s important work through participating in our Annual Giving Program. Consider a donation of $50, $100, $250 or more to reach our goal of $5000. To learn more about SHM’s awards, events, exhibits, and collection, visit sycamorehistory.org. Checks can be sent to Sycamore

History Museum, P.O. Box 502, Sycamore, IL 60178 or you may pay donate by credit card at our secure on-line site: sycamorehistory.org/get-involved/support.

Thank you for your gift.
