Use our laptop lab safely and responsibly!

Clear your desk of all objects, like notebooks, water bottles, or books

Find your assigned laptop in the cart Unplug the laptop

Always carry the laptop with two hands

Set the laptop securely on your desk
Using Your Laptop
Open the laptop
Push the power button at the top left of the keyboard
Using Your Laptop
Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to begin

Your user name is: user Leave the password blank Press Enter on your keyboard

Press F3 to check the laptop battery If the battery power is low, tell your
teacher

Use the touchpad as your mouse Use a very light touch

Use the Internet or programs to do your work
Saving Your Work
You are not connected to the network, so you cannot save to “My Documents”
Ask your teacher how to save your work
Remember: Save it or lose it!
Saving Your Work: Flash Drive
Use a flash drive to save your work Carefully plug the drive into the USB port! Eject the drive before removing it
Printing Your Work
Always ask your teacher for permission to print
Ask your teacher about which printer to use
Select and print only to that printer
Finishing Up
Use Start–Shutdown to shut off your laptop Do not use the power button to shutdown!

Close the lid of the laptop

Locate your laptop number on the shelf Plug the cord into the laptop

Carefully place the laptop on the matching numbered shelf in the cart.
