DPSB:RG:Parental circular/13-’14/08 10th July, 2013 Dear Parents Greetings! Over the past years, as a school Principal I have always been closely associated with students and
parents, as this partnership is the only one which leads us towards yielding the best for our
children, and this first communication to you is an effort towards initiating the same long-lasting
bond between us. Bhilai being the city from where I started my administrative career more than
20 years back (as Principal – DAV, Jamul), it has always been close to my heart along with its
warm and affectionate people.
DPS Bhilai has a proud history of excellence and I am pleased to join you parents in travelling on
this journey of excellence for the students and the institution. I feel extremely fortunate to
belong to a school culture focused on student achievements and a commitment to high
expectations.
It is my utmost intention to carry on these important traditions and practices, while helping to
create a warm, caring and safe environment where the children have the opportunity to reach
their highest potential. The school will continue to strive to make students lifelong learners and
confident enough to become ethical citizens and leaders. We aim at challenging students to be
the very best they can be. The skills needed for the 21st Century, which support a love of learning
that goes beyond the classroom, are and will be actively embraced by our school. It is this
learning perspective that will ensure that our children add value to the school and their future
years during their stay with us.
I believe, our students should be enthusiastic and creative thinkers who are able to use available
resources and technology to solve any problem(s) they might encounter. I sign off with a
commitment to giving our children our very best.

DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, BHILAI (C.G.) (Under the aegis of the Delhi Public School, Society, Delhi)
DPSB:RG:13-14/5 30
th April, 2013
Dear all,
I wish to place on record my sincere thanks and gratitude to all of you for your most invaluable support in the
progress of the school during my tenure over the last 17 years at DPS Bhilai.
After doing B.A. (Hons.) English from Punjab University and B.Ed. from Central Institute of Education (Univ. of
Delhi) I took up teaching by choice, having teaching experience of 35 years spanning from Cambridge School, New
Delhi, St. Paul’s School, Darjeeling, Delhi Public School, Vindhya Nagar to DPS Bhilai. I did my M.A. (Geography)
from Aligarh Muslim University, in service, in 1986.
Self drive, relentless hard work, a total commitment to the cause of the students, indomitable courage and honesty of
purpose has led me to my present responsibility of Principal since June, 1994. During my long stint at
St. Paul’s School, Darjeeling I worked in different positions, especially as Resident House Master for 5 years. It was
in May, 1996 that I took over the charge of DPS Bhilai as Principal. Since then, the school has grown from 1700 to
5295 students. Over the last 17 years the school has been led to a phenomenal all-round growth in terms of quantity
and quality. It has been a journey full of strife, strain and challenges and we crossed many a milestones. A few of
them are cited below:
ACADEMICS:
The school has put up excellent results year after year in home as well as board exams. The ever highest score of a
student in class X was 97.6% in 2004 and in class XII 97% in 2009. The school has been putting up cent percent
results. On an average, 98% students in class X and 99% students in class XII have been placed in 1st division. A
large number of students qualify every year for the CBSE Merit Certificate in each subject for being among the top
0.1% of the successful candidates at its AISSCE.
A. Outstanding achievements of the Principal:
He has been conferred with National Award to Teachers 2009; CBSE Award to Teachers For The Year
2005; Rajya Shikshak Samman Smriti Puraskar 2011 by Govt. of Chhattisgarh; Best Principal Award
(Chhattisgarh) continuously from 2005-2011 by the Science Olympiad Foundation, New Delhi etc. and Best
Principal Award – International Category for the year 2012 and also nominated for 2013.

India. DPS, Bhilai has been ranked for the third consecutive year 2011-’12, India’s No. 1 Day School on
parameters of Academic Reputation in the Education World - C fore Survey of India’s Most Respected
Schools and the school was adjudged First Ranked Day School in Chhattisgarh and bagged 8th

collective and relentless efforts of all the students, teachers, parents, management, state govt., media etc.
I would like to express my message to you through the following lines – to quote:
“Mother Teresa's Anyway Poem
People are often unreasonable, illogical and self centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and your God;
It was never between you and them anyway.”
I, once again, express my whole-hearted gratitude for your support and I am sure DPS Bhilai will be led to still
greater heights in the years to come.
I salute DPS Bhilai! Adieu!
With best wishes to one and all.
