Cyclical season changes give us an opportunity to refresh ourselves and bring about a new self, each time. As nature expresses its grandeur of transition, these are also good times for us to reflect and attune ourselves to the dynamic shifts in our lives.
Autumn, a season of transition embodying culmination, is nature’s ‘last hurrah!’ before retiring into the slumbering mood of winter. To me; this change symbolizes something much deeper.
It is a time for us to recount our blessings and joys just before we get enveloped by the darkness of winter. At the same time, leaves fluttering to the ground remind us of the fact that we need to let go of things that hold no good for us anymore. It also cautions us about the impermanence of everything. While the new leaves breathing alive later in another season inspire us not to ever give up during adversities.
Autumn can have many more connotations to each one of us. But one thing is definite. It will be about change, which is constant in our lives. By understanding and appreciating the emblematic meanings of the season change, we can embrace the uncertainty of life with much ease.
Let the winds of changing season bring about those changes in us that would make us strong enough to withstand the challenges in life. We must believe that the universe is balanced, and so is our life!

Did you know Germany’s Oktoberfest isn’t just about the beer but is actually meant to celebrate the harvest? It started in 1810, when Munich celebrated the Crown Prince’s wedding with a special beer and a16 day party.
Momijigari which literally means “hunting the autumn leaves” is the traditional Japanese pastime of viewing autumn foliage and is said to have originated in the Heian era as a cultured pursuit. In Japan, both the spring and autumn equinoxes are national holidays.
On October 4, 1957; the first artificial satellite – Sputnik – was launched by the Soviet Union.
The full moon in October is called the Full Hunter’s Moon, which is what Native Americans called it. Since the fields were traditionally reaped in late September or early October, hunters could easily see fox and other animals that come out to glean from the fallen grains.
According to legends, if you see a spider on Halloween it’s actually the spirit of a loved one watching over you.
