ThedensityoftheBrocade5300uniquelyenablesfan-outfromthecoreofthedatacenterfabricwithlessthanhalfthenumberofswitchdevicestomanagecomparedtotraditional32-or40-portedgeswitches(seeFigure1).whendeployedasacoreSANfabricswitch,the80-portBrocade5300providesasingle-switchcorefootprintthatisidealforSANfan-outusinglower-densityBrocadeswitches.Thissingle-domainsolutionenableshighlyefficientserverandstorageconsolidation,reducingthetotalnumberofdomainstomanageinthefabric.
