ThepurposeoftheroundtablesessionatCyberlearning2017istolearnaboutmultipleprojectsonacertaintopic.Thesessionwilllastonehour,leavingampletimefordiscussions.
HowdotheRoundtableswork? Thereare16roundtables,spreadacrossBallroomC+D+E,Salons1/2/3,andtheAlcottBoardroom.Eachtableisdedicatedtoaspecifictopicandhosts10people.Ofthese,2-3arepresenterswhowilltake10minuteseachtointroducetheircyberlearning-relatedresearchtotheparticipants.Weaskthatparticipantsstayatthesametablefortheentireroundtablesession. WorkingSessions
ThepurposeoftheWorkingSessionsatCyberlearning2017istobringtogethergroupsofpeopletoworkonissuesrelatingtothefutureofthecyberlearningcommunity.Thesessionswillproduceanartifactandleadtoconcretenextstepsforthegroups.Thisyear,thetwosessions(dayoneanddaytwo)willfocusondifferentagendas.Ondayone,wewillconvenegroupsaroundsixselectedtopicsthatreflecttheBigIdeasofNSFandotherpertinenttopicsfor
ourcommunity.Eachparticipantshouldselectthetopicthatbestmatchestheirinterestandtogetherworkonawritingproject(e.g.,writingaprimerorblogpost,editingaNSFsolicitation).Ondaytwo,wewillconvenegroupsthatwillbetaskedwithfocusingonafuture-orientedproject(e.g.,aworkshopproposal,ajournalforthecyberlearningcommunity).Somegroupswillbenewgroupsandsomewillcarry-overfromdayonedependingoninterest.

Human-CenteredDesignBallroomEThistopiciscloselyrelatedtotheNSFBigIdeaofinnovativeworkatthehuman-technologyfrontier.TheBigIdeaisfocusedonworkforceissues,butwehopethatthistopiccaninspire
morecyberlearningapplicationsforclassroomsandinformallearningsettings.Thistopiccoversareaslikecollaboration,robotics,andtoolsforuseinclassroomlearning.
ConvergentResearchSalon3Thistopicisfocusedonthechallengesandaffordancesofresearchthatconvergesacrossdisciplines.Whilecyberlearningworkisinherentlyconvergent,thereisworktobedoneabouthowbesttoseekoutgoodopportunitiesforinnovativeconvergentresearchandthenfosterthoseinterdisciplinaryworkingrelationships.
MediaandComputationalLiteracyBallroomCThistopicismorerelevantthanever,withtheproliferationofonlinemediaandcontentthatstudents(andadults)mustbeabletosiftthroughtoeffectivelymakesenseoftheworldaroundus.
SmartandConnectedCommunitiesSalon1ThistopichasitsownNSFsolicitationcallandthecommunityaroundthistopichasgrownoverthelastfewyears.Thisworkingsessiongroupcanfocusonrefiningideasanddeveloping
prioritiesforthesmartandconnectedcommunitiesresearchagenda.
