What is Microsoft Word?

Microsoft Word is the most popular word processing program utilized today. This program will enable the user to create letters, worksheets, newsletters, signs, brochures and other various types of documents.

Ctrl + X = Cut Ctrl + C = Copy Ctrl + V = Paste

Selecting & Deleting Text: Move the cursor to the end of the word

Click, hold and then drag the mouse backwards over the word so that is selected ( it will become highlighted)

To delete text press the Delete or Backspace button on the keyboard.

You may also select the text by holding down the shift key and pressing the arrow keys.

Inserting Graphic from Clip Art:

Click on the Insert Tab located on the tool bar.

Select Picture and than choose either:

Clip Art (Which are Microsoft preloaded images)

Picture File (These images you have saved to a folder on the computer.

Spell Check:

Click on the Review, select Spelling & Grammar.

The Spelling & Grammar window will appear follow the instructions and make any changes as needed.

Save or Save As: Keyboard shortcut Save button

Save: will choose the location where your work will be saved.

Save As: will allow you to choose where you want your work to be saved.

The Save shortcut icon on the tool bar only allows you to save.

Printing:

To print select the File Tab and choose print then click the print button or select the Print Icon from the tool bar and then follow the on screen instructions
